I left the sharp cold of Philadelphia last night and arrived home in Baltimore after a quiet bus ride. The entire bus was almost empty, and I laid sideways in a seat to see my own eyes staring back at me with moving glimpses of traffic behind them. When I arrived in Baltimore, I sat on my backpack in the parking lot opposite a Red Lobster to wait for a cab along with a scattered line of other people doing the same. When I got in the cab, the driver said, "It's cold! It's really cold!" And I said, "It is cold." And he said, "It's really cold," and we both nodded in agreement with one another before he turned up Tim McGraw on the radio or some equivalent. Ten minutes later, he said again, "It's cold," and I nodded in agreement again. It was also very dark, and the streetlights blocked out all sights of stars. But, it was cold, and that's all-encompassing.

I actually have disliked being cold from a young age...I have Raynaud's disease and when I'm cold my fingers and toes turn purple and go numb. Even in the summer, my hands and feet are often cold. For me, anything below 60 degrees is almost unbearable unless I'm bundled up. I spent my week in Philadelphia wearing layers of clothing, and the minute my fingers felt wind, my entire being was cold. Now that it is officially winter, complete with snowfall and unending wind, I feel that I should hibernate under pads of blankets until it reaches a nice 65 degree average temperature.

Tomorrow, I'm working with Gregory Garecki  for the second time, and I'm planning my trip to Columbus, Ohio and then Dayton to see family. I'll be working in Columbus from the 19-23rd and 26th with close to ten people, and it will likely be pretty hectic. I'll try to update as I'm going along.

On another note - I received my studio light in the mail today! I had mentioned buying one continuous light in order to do some stylized shoots at night, and I finally have it and am very happy. So, I will attempt to figure out how to use it in the coming weeks so that I can begin doing more sets with it. I've always been a bit of a nightowl, and this will be incredibly convenient for me in making art.

I also have a small set I'm uploading at the $10 level later...it was a set from earlier today. It's not a large set, but I thought to do some quick photos.

I am like that also - the cold leaves me layered in my drafty rooms. Pleased your light arrived; hopefully the excitement of exploring its possibilities will distract you or compensate for the cold of winter ? I saw something about Nebraska in February(?) - hope that they have unusually warm weather for your time there ! ~ warm and well !
