To me it is a wonderful collaboration - but fundamentally it is you we see. You are more than the paint or clay in the painter or sculptors hands ? A wonderful photographer captures what is there from a POV - what is there is you ! So you are more vulnerable and more critical to the image - by definition ? As I have said many times, I am grateful when you work with those whose talents and ideas - you value !

I suppose there are many ways of looking at it - you could also suppose that certain photographers are better at choosing models for their particular aesthetic than others, and that is a talent as much as editing (choosing the proper and best images) is I think. I think that's a talent that needs to be developed when photographing people - exactly what sort of look or feeling or intensity is required of a model or person for an image and choosing the right one. So I think that arranging an image, and the right composition of one, goes beyond the taking of a single photo. It has to be considered in all elements prior, during, and after and affects all of the elements of the composition. I had a conversation with a favorite photographer of mine, and the creation of an image should be considered like a mathematical equation on some front. There are certain elements that go into making the photograph, using those to create the photograph, and then further composing afterwards to produce the final image. Any one of those missing elements produces something lacking merit. So, I showed up, I pose, and I am by my nature fitting within a certain genre/aesthetic. But there are many other elements I think as well, on which I had no effect. So, fortunately for me, I work with good artists who produce the other elements necessary, I think :)
