Last week I had, possibly, my strangest shoot experience so far.

I was traveling with another model (Kira Floofie) to a location near the Oregon coast where she had a shoot with another photographer. My plan was to focus on shooting self portrait work (which will be uploaded as soon as my icloud adjusts itself) and perhaps some landscapes. We arrived, and the photographer was waiting there with his friend Samantha, who was busily writing in her journal on the little river beach we settled into.

I headed off to work a bit as Floofie began shooting some sheer dresses in the water with the photographer. I began looking for locations to shoot and eventually found some spots. I'd been shooting myself a lot while in the PNW though, and after a while it starts to get repetitive. I love doing self portrait work, but it's sort of a lonesome activity, very self-involved at times, a bit limited in what sorts of angles you can always capture...it also tends to feed into my neuroticism at times.

So, I'd been doing that for about an hour and I look up and there's the girl, Samantha, from the beach. And she's completely naked and quickly asks if I'll take her photo. Of course, I'd say yes...especially since she's already standing there waiting. In hindsight, I should have immediately been like, "I must see your identification!" - she is only 20 years old. Which, to me, seems very young to just walk up to a complete stranger while naked. I guess women under 5'0" aren't incredibly threatening creatures though. So, I'm non-threatening.

I ended up photographing her, and she requested that we do a few self portraits - me in the frame with her. I'm not so sure about those, but they were at her direct request so it seemed alright. I'm always erring on the side of, if a man would be blacklisted for this, I must not do it. I always put clothing on when photographing models, I don't touch them, I'm very iffy about certain things. Though, I rarely have the experience that models are very wary of me. Again, non-threatening I suppose. the benefits of being a tiny woman...there have to be benefits I suppose haha.

Overall, I'm super happy with the photos as well! I love so many of them...they're some of my favorites I've shot of anyone else up to this point. It was also a case of her not modeling...essentially she was just playing around in the water on a really warm (there was a heat wave in Oregon last week) day, and was completely comfortable in front of the camera. It's rare to find people who are so natural and at ease. I'm really in love with some of the photos and can't wait to post the set. Might be late tonight, but it will happen!

And I have new sign-ups - thank you so much to all of the people here. I am going to be sending out the postcards this month but am waiting until next week to get a somewhat accurate number of how many I should be ordering. Oh! And for those at the $25 per month, it would be super to know which prints you'd like whenever you know as well :)
