Chapter 26: Stepson of a Prestigious Family

"Madam, Mr. Yan Su's belongings have been packed up as well." The housekeeper carried a carry-on suitcase and placed it by An Na's feet.

Though Yan Su had lived here for the past two years, there weren't many things left behind—just a couple of changes of clothes and some basic necessities. Not even a 20-inch suitcase was filled, as if he was ready to leave this home at any moment.

An Na couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. Her Su Su had suffered so much. She knew her son owned property in Moon City and had stayed at the Jiang family's place just to be closer to her. This wasn't truly his home; it was more like a temporary refuge.

Now that Su Su had found someone to love and was about to start his own family, An Na felt a mix of heartache and gratitude, tears welling up as she looked at the small suitcase.

Xie Ya, on the other hand, misconstrued An Na's emotions as regret for leaving the prestigious family and despair. She smugly leaned back, addressing the housekeeper, "Who are you calling Madam? I, Xie Ya, am the mistress of this household now."

The housekeeper, Chen Jie, had worked in this house for over a decade, and An Na had never shown her such arrogance. Chen Jie coldly responded, "What does the mistress of this house have to do with me? I'm here to serve Madam. I haven't sold myself to the Jiang family. A woman who climbs up the pole to be a third party has no standing."

An Na let out a low chuckle.

"Say that again!" Xie Ya felt stung and immediately exploded. Her eyes widened in fury, wanting to devour the housekeeper. She despised being labeled a third party. When Qin Yi Ran insulted her in the mall, everyone found out she had a child with a married man, branding her as a home-wrecker, making even her subordinates gossip behind her back!

An Na and Jiang Zhaolin had long lost their emotional connection. How could she be a third party?

"What's all the noise about?" Jiang Zhaolin and Jiang Wenbo came downstairs, witnessing Xie Ya's agitated state. Thinking she was being bullied by An Na, Jiang Zhaolin sternly addressed An Na, "Why haven't you left yet? From now on, you have no ties with the Jiang family. You don't need to meddle in anything here."

"Mom!" Jiang Wenbo, seeing Xie Ya's flushed face, joined Jiang Zhaolin, glaring at An Na. At seventeen or eighteen, in the throes of youthfulness, he was as ferocious as a guard dog that couldn't be provoked. "If you dare touch my mom, I'll kill you!"

His mother had suffered enough from being labeled a third party, and Jiang Wenbo had long harbored resentment toward An Na.

"Kill who?" A clear, lazy voice echoed from outside. Everyone turned to see two tall figures striding in from the doorway, backlit, exuding an overwhelming presence that made everyone feel shorter.

Nie Jia, clad in a black overcoat, sat next to An Na without casting a glance elsewhere. His eyes swept indifferently over Jiang Wenbo and Xie Ya, "Mom, someone bullied you? Are these two blind fools the culprits?"

After sensing the murderous intent in the other's gaze, Jiang Wenbo's fiery rage immediately deflated, even taking a step back involuntarily.

"Huo Mister... why are you here..." Jiang Zhaolin was stupefied to see Huo Qing.

"I'm here for the show. It's alright. I asked Chen Jie to pack up what you left behind. See if there's anything you're missing," An Na said, smiling as she saw her son and future daughter-in-law, "Huo Qing's here too. Su Su can just come pick me up, no need for all of you to be here."

Jiang Zhaolin's eyes widened in horror. After Huo Qing's withdrawal of investment, he thought he'd never have any dealings with Huo Qing again. But the next moment, An Na was casually addressing Huo Qing by name... what was going on?

"This is my duty, Mom. You don't have to be polite with me." Huo Qing smiled gently.

Jiang Zhaolin and Xie Ya were utterly dumbfounded. Mister Huo addressed An Na as Mom? How did An Na become Huo Qing's mom?!

"Boss, the documents are ready." Wang Zong came over and handed a stack of papers to Huo Qing.

Huo Qing took a pen, and in front of Jiang Zhaolin's dumbfounded gaze, he personally laid out the documents in front of An Na. His deep voice carried undeniable obedience and respect, as if An Na were his own biological mother, "Mom, these are the shares of the Jiang family. These areas need your signature. Su Su has arranged a tight schedule for you. Sign the papers here, and I'll instruct Wang Zong to handle the rest, so you won't have to bother later."

Surprised, An Na asked, "81% of the shares? How..."

"Keep it, it's a birthday gift from Huo Qing. It means nothing to him. If you don't like it, you can hire a CEO to manage things for you," Nie Jia said affectionately, embracing An Na.

Xie Ya was utterly bewildered and immediately looked at her illegal husband, "Zhaolin, what's... what's happening?" Wasn't An Na supposed to leave with nothing? Why did she suddenly have so many shares in her son's hands, and now they were about to sign them over to her... would An Na become the owner of the entire Jiang family? She had just claimed to be the mistress of the Jiang family in front of An Na... and in a blink, the entire Jiang family seemed to belong to An Na!

Jiang Zhaolin had no idea how to respond, unable to contain himself as he asked, "Mister Huo, what's going on?"

Following Huo Qing's guidance, An Na signed her name in various places.

Huo Qing handed the documents to Wang Zong, who nonchalantly said, "The Jiang family has changed ownership. This residence is now under Madam An Na's name. If Madam wishes, you all must move out now. You can ask Jiang Yang about the specific reasons once he wakes up."

"What?!" Xie Ya couldn't believe it, rushing to Jiang Zhaolin, utterly unable to comprehend the situation. She had been about to move in today, and suddenly, she had no right to live here anymore?

"This... this..." Jiang Zhaolin, who was over fifty, showed signs of fainting under the heavy blow.

"Why are you surprised now? Don't you know why the Jiang family is where it is today?" Nie Jia sneered, "Back then, why did you marry my mom? Wasn't it because you saw the wealth she held could save the Jiang family from a life-and-death crisis? You and Jiang Yang are indeed father and son, both aiming to stabilize yourselves in the business world through deceitful marriages, only to cheat and divorce once your goals were achieved, showing no gratitude. If my mom hadn't used all her assets to help you, where would the Jiang family be today? It's just about getting back what my mom rightfully deserves."

Jiang Zhaolin's face turned crimson, hands trembling, unable to utter a word.

"Alright, let's go. I've had enough of this home," An Na said, holding Nie Jia's arm as she stood up, adjusting her clothes lightly. She calmly addressed Xie Ya, who had turned pale: "There's quite a lot here. You have three days to move out. Can I have Xiao Wang come in three days to inspect?"

"Yes, Madam," Wang Zong nodded.

"Jiang Zhaolin, civil affairs office at three in the afternoon," An Na smiled and left the home she had lived in for over twenty years.

Her departing figure appeared composed, unruffled. Jiang Zhaolin didn't know she had also cried her heart out upon discovering her husband's infidelity. How the tides had turned, all part of karma.

"Let's go too," Huo Qing embraced Nie Jia's waist, gazing at him tenderly.

Wang Zong picked up the small suitcase and followed the two as they left the Jiang residence. Even Chen Jie left with them, leaving the Jiang home feeling desolate.

Watching them leave, Jiang Zhaolin's face grew redder, until he finally trembled and collapsed.

Jiang Wenbo anxiously called out to his father as he crouched beside him.

Xie Ya slumped on the sofa, feeling completely drained. She had come in feeling triumphant, only to find chaos waiting in the mansion...

Three months later, Meng Qian and Fang Yan were executed.

It was said that Yan Su and Huo Qing had married two months earlier and had settled abroad. Yes, he had come back for revenge, and now that he had achieved it, wasn't it time to return to his domain? Jiang Yang chuckled bitterly, realizing their relationship only at this low point.

His face weathered, scruffy, he lay on the bed staring at the computer. On the screen was a broadcast of a charity dinner interview, and the hostess was his ex-wife, Qin Yi Ran. Confident and elegant, she had completely shed the gentleness she had when they married, now appearing proud and regal, like an empress of the empire.

If he hadn't met Meng Qian, hadn't divorced Qin Yi Ran because of Meng Qian... would everything be different now?

Jiang Yang watched Qin Yi Ran on the screen expressionlessly. After a while, he suddenly threw the computer, hitting the maid who had come in to clean.

"Get out! Leave!" Jiang Yang yelled frantically and violently at the maid.

The maid, a young girl, irritated by the hit, directly dropped her spray bottle and stormed out, angrily telling Xie Ya, "I quit! Pay me, I'm leaving now!"

She was the fifth maid to resign due to Jiang Yang's temper. Xie Ya could only pay her salary and then stood at the door, scolding, "Your dad is still in the hospital, and I have to run around serving you father and son. You live off me, yet you have such a temper. If you have the guts, climb out of the window and die! Maybe Chairwoman Qin will shed a few tears when she hears you're dead. Instead of taking it out on others, don't eat tonight!"

"You get out!" Jiang Yang glared at Xie Ya, his eyes bloodshot.

As violent as he was, he was just a high-level paraplegic. Xie Ya wasn't afraid of him and stood at the door, scolding until Jiang Wenbo came back from school before she went to cook.

In Country F, it was midnight. Nie Jia and Huo Qing had just settled down to sleep when the system suddenly spoke.

"Congratulations, Mr. Nie. You've successfully fulfilled the original host's wish. Now, you can choose to stay in this world for one lifetime or proceed to the next."

Nie Jia paused, looked at Huo Qing, who was about to get up to run a bath for him. The initially sharp and proud gaze softened suddenly.

"What's wrong?" Huo Qing felt his partner's panic and unease, turning back to see Nie Jia lying on the pillow, eyes moist, looking timidly at him. Huo Qing's heart softened, and he bent down to kiss him gently, whispering, "Don't sleep yet. I'll go run the water for you. Just a quick wash before sleep."

Nie Jia nodded slightly, watching Huo Qing enter the bathroom.

He waited for a while before whispering softly, "I choose... to stay."

"Alright, then... I'll shut down automatically. Call me whenever you're ready to leave," KK said.

Nie Jia fell silent, his eyes restless as he lay there.
