Chapter 411: Slaughter

Upon returning to Elba, ten days passed in the blink of an eye.

Since Salin returned from the Forbidden Zone, Sago was as happy as a flower every day. As for the wedding plans, they were, of course, put on hold.

Luo now trained with Linne every day, occasionally dealing with the persistent Geru.

The highly contagious mixed poison was the reason Geru thick-skinnedly followed him, and that mixed poison was fused from the Surprise Box. Luo could not tell Geru about this.

Further speaking, the Surprise Box was a Nen product, a trump card, not something easily shared with outsiders. Even President Netero wouldn't know its details if Luo didn't reveal them.

To deal with Geru, Luo gave her a perfunctory answer each time. The result was obvious: Geru remained relentless, her attraction to the mixed poison information was too great.

This day, Luo was preparing supplies, ready to make another trip to the Forbidden Zone to bring out valuable items.

Ten days was enough time for the people who returned from the Forbidden Zone to spread the news. Soon, a large number of people from the three major oasis nations would flock to the Forbidden Zone.

The armored bull and supplies were ready, but there was still one problem to solve: how to bring everything out.

For this, he had been negotiating with the Black Cat these past few days.

Luo didn't know if there were other Nen users like him in the world of hunters, needing to negotiate with their own Nen beasts. Common Nen beasts probably couldn't even communicate, right?

As far as he knew, the Black Cat had two types of space within it. The first type would "digest" items it swallowed, erasing them. The second type allowed free storage and retrieval of items. Luo's True Master and Surprise Box were kept in the second type.

Regardless of the differences between the two types, neither could store living things.

To bring valuable items out of the Forbidden Zone, Luo needed to rely on the Black Cat's second space. But according to the Black Cat, its second space wasn't large enough to hold so many antiquities. To expand the space, it had to become stronger.

Becoming stronger meant increasing the number of black pages, allowing Luo to convert Nen energy to it.

Luo knew the Black Cat wasn't lying. He had been considering this matter for some time, but had yet to decide.

The Black Cat demanded twelve hundred black pages, with a thousand pages to expand its space and two hundred as its own reward.

Luo hadn't agreed yet and kept negotiating because of these two hundred pages considered as a reward.

Since his Nen abilities had advanced, he rarely relied on God's Hand to kill enemies. With over two thousand white pages, he had plenty, so there was no worry about running out.

Therefore, to bring out those antiquities from the Forbidden Zone, Luo could accept dyeing a thousand pages black. After all, he could always go to the Red Rock Canyon to earn more pages, but he didn't want to give the Black Cat two hundred pages for nothing.

"This guy really won't miss any chance to increase his black pages."

Seeing Luo's determination, the Black Cat remained confident, not worried that the thousand pages would slip away.

Luo finished packing the supplies, placed them on the armored bull, and headed straight for the city gate.

Aside from Geru, he had informed Linne and the others about his trip. He didn't take Buhara along because Salin was busy taking Sago around for matchmaking, looking for a suitable partner for him, so Buhara had to stay to watch the store.

Passing through various streets, Luo left Elba amidst the surprised gazes of the townspeople.

Solo travelers in the Kendia Desert were rare, usually synonymous with courting death.

Luo's figure soon disappeared into the hot and distorted desert air.

After walking seven or eight kilometers, Luo summoned the Black Cat.

"Have you made up your mind?" The Black Cat squatted on the armored bull's head, grinning mischievously.

"One hundred pages, no more." Luo said.

The Black Cat's silver eyes flashed as it pouted, "Such a miser, fine, one hundred pages it is. Are we heading to the Red Rock Canyon now?"

"Yes."

Luo responded and pointed behind him, "Move to the back, don't block my view."

"Tch."

The Black Cat obediently moved to the back, casually saying, "You might earn a thousand pages from a trip to the Red Rock Canyon. What's there to be stingy about? Besides, with your nature, you wouldn't hesitate to kill those sand thieves, right?"

"To be able to slaughter for a legitimate reason and earn so many pages, such a profitable deal, yet you still hesitate to part with a hundred pages."

The Black Cat shrugged, criticizing Luo's lack of generosity. Even with a two-birds-one-stone or even three-birds-one-stone situation, he still haggled over a hundred pages.

Luo glanced at him, raised his hand, and said lightly, "Get back inside, come out when we get there."

Seeing Luo's expressionless face, the Black Cat didn't mind, threw him a flirtatious look, and then retreated into Luo's right palm.

Eleven hundred pages felt like a gift falling from the sky. The Black Cat was overjoyed.

Days passed, with the scorching heat of day and the biting cold of night alternating. After ten days of trekking, Luo finally saw the shadow of the Red Rock Canyon.

To expand the Black Cat's storage space, the pages had to be dyed black, and only using lives could achieve the maximum effect.

Eleven hundred lives were no small number, so Luo came to trouble the sand thieves. Besides, he could rescue the prisoners they held, increasing the unknown number of pages. Overall, the Red Rock Canyon was the best location.

Originally, if the sand thieves didn't provoke Luo, he wouldn't go looking for trouble. But now, the sand thieves had unwittingly hit the mark.

"Two hours to scout the situation inside," Luo instructed the Black Cat.

"No problem!"

The Black Cat turned into a wisp of black smoke and headed towards the Red Rock Canyon.

This task was greatly beneficial to it, making it extremely enthusiastic.

Luo gave the Black Cat two hours, but it returned in one, bringing back detailed information that made Luo almost believe the Black Cat had been slacking off in previous reconnaissance missions.

Two thousand three hundred and twenty-one sand thieves, one thousand and ninety women, and three hundred and thirty-eight prisoners were the detailed numbers brought back by the Black Cat.

Luo, with the Black Cat, avoided the sand thieves' guards and infiltrated the Red Rock Canyon.

"Eleven hundred, not one more. Go," Luo warned the Black Cat, then gave the order.

The Black Cat, trembling with excitement, its silver eyes glowing brightly, said, "Then I won't hold back!"

By dusk, the Red Rock Canyon was stained with blood. Two thousand three hundred and twenty-one sand thieves were slaughtered by one man and a cat.

When the last sand thief fell with a scream, the women, who had been hiding in the cave rooms in fear, finally gathered the courage to come out slowly. They witnessed an unforgettable scene.

A young man, unstained by blood, with an ominous black cat on his shoulder. Behind them, the ground was covered with the bodies of sand thieves.

The sand thieves, whom they wished to devour and gnaw on their bones, were all dead!

The thousands of women captured by the sand thieves looked at the corpses, their once-dull eyes lighting up. Most couldn't hold back their joy and long-repressed anger, crying out in relief.

In their eyes, Luo was like the grim reaper from mythology, delivering divine punishment and executing these brutal sand thieves.

Exterminating the sand thieves, especially those in the Kendia Desert, was a monumental achievement. Unfortunately, Luo was not a professional hunter, so this feat couldn't be recorded in the association's records, but the fame would surely follow.

With the increase of black pages, Luo had to allocate Nen energy to the Black Cat. Thus, after exterminating the sand thieves, he had to rest in the Red Rock Canyon for a few days, waiting for his Nen to recover before leaving.
