Chapter 407: Fusion

Ten minutes later, only Geru and Luo remained in the house. As for Miria, Luo had persuaded her to leave.

The flickering light cast shadows. Geru leaned against the wall by the door, while Luo sat on the edge of the bed.

They looked at each other for a moment before Geru spoke first, "Your Nen can ignore the ant swarms on the grassland, right?"

"It can," Luo nodded. They had fought before, so Geru knowing this wasn't surprising.

"I'll pay you enough. Take me with you," Geru stated her intention directly.

For professional hunters, transactions in the form of commissions were common. For example, Ging commissioning Piyon to translate ancient texts also counted as an independent transaction within the association.

Incidentally, after obtaining the Serbo ancient texts, Ging seemed to have developed a great interest in ancient languages. He was currently delving into them and, with his talent, would likely not need a translator in a few years.

Having witnessed the number of ant swarms on the grassland firsthand, Geru knew her chances of successfully crossing were slim. Thus, she thought of Luo's Nen and came to him.

In response to Geru's request, Luo scratched his head and said, "I'm afraid that's not possible."

"Is it that you can't do it, or you don't want to?" Geru's expression changed slightly.

"I can do it, but I want to use another method to cross the grassland," Luo replied.

"What method?"

Luo looked at her and smiled, "Eradication."

A few minutes later, Geru placed the toxins she carried on the table, ten glass bottles in total, each with a different color.

Luo glanced at the ten toxins and then took out four toxins from his body, placing them alongside the glass bottles.

Among the four toxins, three were ones he had previously exchanged with Geru. The ten toxins Geru brought this time did not include these three, so with the four Luo brought out, there were now fourteen different toxins on the table.

Just now, Luo had explained to Geru another method of crossing the grassland, which was to concoct a transmissible deadly poison that could eliminate all the ants. Geru believed that achieving this under the current conditions was as difficult as climbing to the sky.

When Luo asked Geru to take out the lethal toxins she carried, Geru did not agree immediately but proposed the condition that if he failed, he must take her with him off the grassland.

Luo readily agreed, so Geru also straightforwardly provided ten lethal toxins. In her view, whether Luo succeeded or failed, she would safely leave the grassland, which was enough.

Geru glanced at the toxins Luo took out and immediately recognized them, saying, "Black Scorpion, Red-headed Dart Frog, and Sea Slug. These three are not lethal. If you want to concoct a mixed deadly poison, including these three would be more harmful than beneficial."

"You're right."

Luo lay on the table, looking closely at the fourteen toxins.

Geru saw Luo's perfunctory response and shook her head slightly, saying, "I'll wait for your good news."

With that, she opened the door and left.

Her blessing was also perfunctory, hoping Luo would fail quickly and take her away.

Luo looked at the closed door, smiled indifferently, raised his right hand, and summoned the "Surprise Box" stored in the Black Cat Space, placing it beside the toxins.

The square box had a clown pattern on one side. Luo placed it casually, with the clown pattern facing the other way. The box then jumped a few times on the table, automatically adjusting its direction to face Luo.

"Surprise, surprise!"

The box seemed to sense Luo's intention to use it, shouting "Surprise" in a strange tone.

"Fourteen toxins, fused into a transmissible deadly poison suitable for living organisms," Luo pointed at the toxins on the table and made a clear request.

"Surprise, surprise!"

The box kept shouting the same words, but the top opened, revealing a pitch-black space inside.

The clown on the box grinned with a sausage-like red mouth, showing a creepy smile.

Seeing the top open, Luo picked up the glass bottles and poured one-fifth of each toxin into the box. After all fourteen toxins were poured in, the opened lid suddenly closed.

Luo silently expanded his Domain to protect himself and watched the box, which started jumping and shouting "Surprise."

He had learned the use of the "Surprise Box" through White Smoke Font, so he knew that both "enhancement" and "fusion" had the possibility of failure, which was a constraint of the box.

"Surprise, surprise!"

The box jumped several times. After about five or six seconds, the lid suddenly opened, spewing out liquid toxins, most of which flew towards Luo, while the clown on the box let out a piercing laugh.

"Failed, huh."

Luo looked calmly at the constantly laughing box, letting the toxins fly towards him, then stopped in mid-air, blocked by God's Domain.

The rest of the toxins fell to the ground, immediately leaving corroded marks, with wisps of green smoke drifting up.

The box laughed for a while before the laughter subsided, repeating the word "Surprise" again.

Luo collected the failed toxins, wrapped them in a Nen ball, and set them aside.

"Fourteen toxins, fused into a transmissible deadly poison suitable for living organisms."

Luo made the request again, and the box responded, opening the lid once more. Luo again poured in the fourteen toxins.

After a moment, the clown's piercing laugh came from the box again. Another failure.

Over the next period, Luo tried four times in total, all ending in failure, leaving only enough materials for one last attempt.

"One last chance," Luo looked at the remaining toxins, his face dark.

What bad luck!

"Surprise, surprise!" The box kept shouting, as if mocking Luo.

"Fourteen toxins, fused into a transmissible deadly poison suitable for living organisms."

Luo exhaled lightly, made the final request, and when the lid opened, poured in the remaining materials, waiting for the result.

Five or six seconds passed, but the clown did not laugh. It kept repeating "Surprise," and then the lid opened automatically, releasing a marble-sized liquid that floated out slowly.

"Success."

Luo's eyes lit up. He used Nen to control the small amount of poison, collecting it in a glass bottle. This was the key to leaving.

Carefully placing the glass bottle with the eerie green liquid down, he then placed his hand on the Surprise Box, smiling, "Thanks."

The box remained unresponsive. Despite its significant enhancement due to the Death Factor, it was more of an item than a Nen beast. Even with enhancement, its intelligence remained limited.

Like Luo's Black Cat or Kite's "Crazy Clown," these were rare Nen ability products.

After storing the box and the glass bottle containing the mixed poison, Luo disposed of the failed products and lay down on the bed to rest.

"Before testing the poison, I'll visit the treasure vault."

Luo slowly closed his eyes, thinking to himself.
