Chapter 402: Bloodstained

Luo and Salin left the royal city and headed to their residence. As they neared, they could hear the sounds of battle from afar.

Realizing the situation was different from what they had imagined, Salin was about to speed up, but Luo's sudden burst of speed left her stunned, trailing far behind.

Luo arrived first. When he saw thousands of Sand Thieves besieging the people in their dwelling, he leapt into the air and landed, scattering the thieves' encirclement.

Before landing, he carefully observed the corpses lying on the ground, relieved to see no children or elderly among them. However, many people had still fallen to the Sand Thieves.

Upon entering the battle, the first essential skill was to activate [Gyo].

Luo focused his aura into his eyes, quickly scanning the battlefield and grasping the situation in an instant.

Only about a hundred of their people remained, while there were at least several thousand Sand Thieves, with about thirty to forty of them being Nen users, mainly gathered around Buhara.

The Sand Thieves, watching the imposing Luo, temporarily halted their assault.

At that moment, a black cat appeared out of nowhere, standing on Luo's shoulder, its silver eyes glowing as it stared at the surrounding Sand Thieves.

The black cat's mysterious appearance made the Sand Thieves even more wary of Luo.

In legend, black cats symbolized curses and divine punishment. In modern times, this belief had weakened, but the black cat's sudden appearance inexplicably reinforced the old tales.

Not only did the Sand Thieves react, but even the hundred or so people in the dwelling showed expressions of fear.

They were close to Luo and only saw a black mist appear from nowhere, swirling around him before suddenly taking shape on his shoulder.

"Did I tell you to stop?"

Suddenly, Gerrot's cold voice echoed through the silent field.

Upon hearing Gerrot's words, the Sand Thieves resumed their actions, slowly tightening the encirclement.

Luo suddenly looked towards Gerrot, who was far off in the crowd. The principle of "capture the leader first" was well-known, but difficult to execute.

With a plan in mind, Luo reached out and grabbed the black cat.

"What are you doing?" The black cat, caught off guard, widened its silver eyes in surprise.

Luo smiled at it and, ignoring its changing expression, threw it like a baseball in a random direction.

"Damn you!"

The black cat turned into a meteor, disappearing into the sky, thwarting its plan to massacre the Sand Thieves.

With the troublesome cat gone, Luo no longer had any reservations. Aura surged around him as he stomped the ground and charged towards Gerrot.

The Sand Thieves, still reeling from Luo's actions, were sent flying into the air, spewing blood from severe internal injuries, dead before they hit the ground.

Boom, boom, boom!

The Sand Thieves were like bowling pins, struck by a powerful force, flying in all directions.

The sounds of flesh colliding and blades breaking filled the air, replacing the one-sided screams from before.

Luo could fully utilize the Enhancer-type Nen abilities. When his Nen enveloped his body, the Sand Thieves' long blades shattered upon impact.

The Sand Thieves' formation quickly disintegrated under Luo's rampage.

Outside the crowd, Gerrot watched, his heart pounding. He knew Luo's target was him.

As soon as he realized this, Luo had already broken through his subordinates' encirclement in a brutal manner, standing before him.

"Controlling quicksand, he must be a Manipulator, but..."

Luo's reckless style clearly indicated an Enhancer.

Gerrot's nerves were on edge. He grabbed a subordinate and threw him at the charging Luo.

Luo didn't waste time dealing with the thrown Sand Thief, sidestepping him and using [Shun], appearing before Gerrot in a flash.

"You!"

Gerrot's fear surged as he saw Luo suddenly cover dozens of meters and appear before him. Aura flowed down his arm, gathering in the long blade, which he swung at Luo.

In Luo's [Gyo], the flow of Nen in Gerrot's attack was as slow and obvious as a naked child, easily read.

Simply put, Gerrot's Nen technique was weak.

True masters can foresee and avoid attacks before they fully materialize, countering faster than their opponent's thoughts.

Gerrot wasn't such a master; his technique was genuinely weak.

As Gerrot initiated his slash, Luo had already dodged and countered with a punch to Gerrot's chest.

There was no loud noise or dramatic flying; Gerrot's body stiffened, his half-executed slash frozen in place.

The punch, though quiet, shattered Gerrot's Nen defense and directly crushed his heart.

Blood poured from Gerrot's mouth as he stared at Luo, falling back and collapsing, eyes open.

All his ambitions and cold ruthlessness faded as the light in his eyes dimmed.

Around Gerrot, over a hundred Sand Thieves and fifty captives watched in shock as Gerrot fell silent.

Then, they saw the unassuming middle-aged man who defeated Gerrot easily remove Gerrot's head and toss it into the air, blood raining down.

Nearby, Salin stood atop a building, staring at Luo, realizing how powerful her junior brother truly was.

After tossing Gerrot's head, Luo coldly eyed the hundred Sand Thieves around, expanding his domain and brutally exploding their heads.

The captives, drenched in blood from the Sand Thieves' heads, were stunned and trembling.

Yet, Miria, unafraid, found Luo's unassuming face inexplicably pleasing.
