Chapter 390: The Show of Strength

Nine sand thieves followed the team from a distance, like a pack of wolves waiting for their prey to be exhausted, an undeniable threat.

Everyone in the team was mentally prepared to confront the sand thieves, knowing that their main force could appear at any moment.

Running away was futile when facing sand thieves; only by displaying strength that deterred them could their greedy gaze be repelled.

The remaining seventy armored bulls were organized into four rows, shortening the length of the convoy, with the bulls pulling the sand sleds in front and those not pulling the sleds guarding the rear, constantly watching the movements of the nine sand thieves from a distance.

A cloud of gloom quietly settled over most people's hearts.

Luo didn't think the sand thieves posed a great threat. The technology in the Kendia Desert was weak, and even if the sand thieves were equipped with advanced firearms, he still didn't find them threatening.

Luo silently looked ahead, the varied sand dunes sliding past on either side of his vision. A gaze from the right, unhidden, was cast his way—that was Geru's gaze.

It wasn't because his identity was recognized but because he had exposed himself as a Nen user during the rescue earlier.

Since he had been exposed, Luo decided to use Ten openly, ignoring Geru's probing look.

The Eagle Regiment was a team of over a hundred people, but each member was an ordinary person.

The technology in the Kendia Desert was weak, and there seemed to be few Nen users. According to known information, the sand thieves in Red Rock Canyon numbered at least five thousand. If they attacked en masse, they could capture an entire oasis nation.

How many of those five thousand sand thieves were Nen users remained unknown. Regardless, if the sand thieves were foolish enough to attack, Luo would show no mercy.

Three hours later, near dusk, the sun no longer scorching, the sky adorned with patches of fiery red clouds.

"We're approaching the rocky area, everyone stay alert!" Ali glanced back at the nine persistent sand thieves and shouted to the entire team.

The rocky area, as the name suggests, was a place with oddly shaped rocks, the tallest being four or five meters high, scattered irregularly on the ground. It was a good resting place for desert travelers.

In a mounted battle, sand thieves had the advantage, so before the sand thieves gathered their main force, the team needed to reach the rocky area to leverage the terrain for counterattacks and to rest for the night.

Luo remained silent throughout the journey. He knew it would take about ten more days to reach the Forbidden Zone. If the sand thieves delayed them, it might take even longer, and their prepared supplies might not last.

To avoid the anticipated scenario, Luo decided that if the sand thieves attacked, he would, as he did last time, kill hundreds within moments to drive them away.

As for the opinions of others in the team and Geru, he had no time to care.

An hour later, with the sun still not completely set, the light was still sufficient.

The team moved swiftly and finally saw the outline of the rocky area. However, almost everyone's face changed.

A large group of sand thieves had set up a formation in front of the rocky area, waiting for them to walk into their trap.

Three hundred? Maybe even five hundred?

It was hard to count the exact number from a distance, but it was definitely no less than three hundred.

"Damn it! We've been intercepted!" Ali's face was grim, the sand thieves had figured out their movements and arrived at the rocky area ahead of them.

"What do we do now?" Yaya tightened her grip on her wrench and asked.

Ali didn't respond, looking back at the nine sand thieves trailing them. In forty or fifty minutes, it would be dark. If they didn't seize the rocky area before nightfall, with the sand thieves watching from the side, they'd be doomed.

"What can we do? Fight!" Ali grabbed a wolf-tooth club hanging on the side of an armored bull and shouted fiercely.

The members of the Eagle Regiment were top-notch fighters. Even if the sand thieves outnumbered them, they wouldn't back down. This was their confidence.

Their side had only about a hundred people, while the sand thieves in the rocky area numbered nearly four hundred, almost a fourfold difference.

Luo had seen the bravery of the sand thieves. Although he didn't know the combat capability of the Eagle Regiment, he didn't think they could match the nearly four hundred sand thieves. Even if they could win, it would be a costly victory.

To make the sand thieves retreat, they had to strike fear into them in this battle for the rocky area.

"I'll go. You all wait here." Luo suddenly urged his armored bull to the front of the team.

"What do you mean?"

Ali frowned at Luo standing in front.

"I'll deal with them alone," Luo said.

Everyone thought Luo was crazy when they heard this.

They recognized Luo's abilities, but taking on nearly four hundred sand thieves alone was absurd.

William silently watched Luo, finding it increasingly hard to understand his depth. He knew some Nen, but fighting dozens at once was already very challenging. He believed that Luo must have used a lot of Nen energy when he slaughtered the sand thieves last time.

Now, with nearly four hundred sand thieves, could Luo easily eliminate them as he did last time?

Geru bit her sexy lips, showing no intention of helping, even curious to see how Luo would deal with the sand thieves, a group of ferocious bandits not easily intimidated.

"Are you crazy?" Ali's eyes widened, and others reacted similarly.

"I'm not crazy. Just wait here," Luo said.

Buhara came to Luo's side and asked, "Boss, need any help?"

Luo smiled at him and said, "No need."

"Oh." Buhara nodded.

Seeing that dusk was approaching, Luo didn't say much. He jumped off the armored bull, his feet landing on the sand. With Nen energy wrapped around his legs, he burst forward, kicking up a cloud of dust towards Ali and the others.

When they waved away the dust, they saw Luo already five or six hundred meters ahead, their expressions turning to shock.

Ali quickly reacted, saying, "Follow him!"

Everyone hurried towards the rocky area. They didn't believe Luo could handle the sand thieves alone.

Luo dashed across the desert, leaving everyone behind, soon entering the sand thieves' sight.

"Just one person, don't waste the arrows."

The sand thief leader saw many subordinates raising their crossbows and immediately ordered them to stop.

These guys were skilled fighters but loved to play. Even knowing it was unnecessary to waste poisoned arrows on one person, they wanted to test their accuracy.

Hearing the leader's order, the sand thieves, who had treated Luo as a rabbit, reluctantly lowered their crossbows.

They didn't need to understand why Luo came alone, assuming he came to die. They would kill him without mercy.

However, Luo was no rabbit but a beast they couldn't match!

Until Luo was thirty or forty meters away, the sand thieves didn't waste any arrows, as their main target was the team of a hundred.

"You guys, go kill him," the leader glanced at a few sand thieves nearby.

"No problem!"

The chosen sand thieves licked their lips, excitedly rushing towards Luo.

Whoosh!

As soon as they ran a few meters, a blood hole silently appeared in their foreheads, and they fell off their armored bulls, dead.

The sand thieves were shocked.

The leader's nerves tightened, his body suddenly to the side, awkwardly falling onto the sand.

Before the surrounding sand thieves could understand what was happening, they saw several of their comrades' upper bodies suddenly drop.

The leader knew some Nen, able to use basic Ten and Gyo. Though not a skilled Nen user, his reaction was decent, dodging Luo's specially targeted crescent-shaped Nen blade.

"He's a Nen user and very strong!" The leader lay on the sand, panicked, seeing Luo twenty meters away, about to order his men to attack when the sand beneath him suddenly sank.

"Quicksand?!"

A sand thief shouted.

How could there be quicksand here?!
