Chapter 357: The Low-Key Great God Tonpa

At the entrance, there was a pretty girl dressed in a server's uniform. She observed the candidates in the restaurant as soon as Luo entered, but didn't interrupt him. Instead, she waited quietly on the side.

When Luo withdrew his gaze, she politely said to him, "Hello, please show me your coin."

Hearing this, Luo took out a coin from his pocket and handed it over.

The girl took the coin and examined it carefully. After a few seconds, she verified the code on the coin, put it away, and handed a folded piece of paper to Luo.

"What is this?" Luo took the paper, feeling slightly annoyed by this year's testing method, which required information to be conveyed through paper before reaching the first test location.

The girl smiled without speaking, indicating that she wouldn't answer any of his questions.

Luo shrugged, deciding not to ask further. He held the folded paper and walked into the restaurant, heading directly to his "old acquaintance's" spot without bothering to choose a seat.

Upon entering the main hall of the restaurant, Luo found that his old acquaintance had disappeared. After a closer look, he saw that the person had hidden in a corner, covering their face with a bulging old-fashioned bag, perfectly imitating an ostrich.

This old acquaintance was none other than the "Newcomer Terminator," the great god Tonpa.

Ignoring the scrutinizing glances from around, Luo walked to the corner and sat in the seat opposite Tonpa.

Last time in the Amarlo Jungle, Luo had used his God's Hand ability to inject a powerful laxative directly into Tonpa, thus recording Tonpa's name in his book.

In such a dangerous environment, Tonpa had managed to escape unharmed despite ingesting several times the dosage of a powerful laxative, showcasing his considerable skills in self-preservation.

Seeing Tonpa here didn't surprise Luo.

If Tonpa had died, Luo would have known immediately. However, the page in the book bearing Tonpa's name remained intact, indicating that Tonpa was still alive. Since he was alive, it was inevitable that he would participate in the Hunter Exam.

"Got any drinks? Give me one," Luo said casually, leaning back in the soft chair and knocking on the table.

Tonpa slowly removed the bag covering his face, revealing a smile that looked more like a grimace, and stammered, "Wh-why are you here?"

"I'm here to take the Hunter Exam, isn't that obvious?" Luo replied, puzzled.

Of course, I know that!

Tonpa cried out internally, but the problem was, with your strength, how could you not have passed the exam?

Last year, he hadn't seen Luo at the Hunter Exam. Plus, seeing Luo's terrifying strength in the Sky Arena battles on the live broadcast made him think Luo had already obtained his license.

However, he was wrong. The fact was Luo hadn't passed the exam, which was why he was at the first test location this year.

No matter how much Tonpa racked his brains, he couldn't figure it out. He could only swallow his doubts silently, his expression blank as he took out a can of juice from his bag and handed it over.

Just as Luo was about to take the juice, Tonpa suddenly pulled back his hand and hastily said, "Wait, this juice..."

Before he could say the words "expired," Luo interrupted him indifferently, "I know, you injected a powerful laxative in it. It's fine, give it to me."

Saying that, he reached out to Tonpa.

The surrounding candidates, hearing Luo's words, all turned their gazes towards Tonpa.

Forty-seven candidates had arrived at the Santa Yammari restaurant ahead of time. Maybe this year's candidates were of higher quality, as ninety percent of them were new faces who didn't know Tonpa's reputation.

Not long ago, Tonpa had been very friendly, chatting with them and offering drinks. Who would have thought that the drinks contained powerful laxatives?

Suddenly, the gazes on Tonpa turned grim.

The candidates who could quickly find the Santa Yammari restaurant were all capable individuals with at least some level of alertness, so naturally, they hadn't accepted Tonpa's drinks.

Feeling the oppressive gazes from the surrounding candidates, Tonpa was on the verge of tears. From a position standpoint, he was an egg, and Luo was a stone. No matter whether he tried to smash Luo or Luo smashed him, the result would be a broken egg.

In simple terms, he was completely at Luo's mercy. Being set up by Luo, not only could he not complain, but he also couldn't retaliate.

Tonpa lowered his head as much as possible, trying to reduce his presence, while handing the drink to Luo.

After Luo took the drink, Tonpa slightly raised his head, staring intently at Luo, wanting to see if Luo would do anything before drinking it.

Luo activated his Nen ability, using God's Hand to separate the powerful laxative from the drink and stick it to his palm. He then opened the drink and took several large gulps.

"He didn't do anything."

Tonpa concluded, but how could Luo be completely unaffected?

Luo finished the drink in one go, placed the empty can aside, and then took out the paper he exchanged with the coin. Opening it, he found a list of food items and a note at the bottom.

- One spoonful of mint sweet sauce

- One spoonful of yuri caviar

- Two salt-baked crab claws

- One slice of Kakaro Melon

- One Benedict egg

Please gather the above food items from the buffet area and finish eating them within ten minutes after the first test officially starts.

Important note: Please carefully consider the portion size and eating order.

This was the content on the paper, which seemed to be the way the first test would be conducted.

Luo memorized the contents of the paper, then put it away and looked towards the so-called buffet area, located in the center of the restaurant, but there was nothing there, only empty utensils.

Time passed by slowly, and more and more candidates arrived at the Santa Yammari restaurant, making the previously quiet restaurant lively.

One hundred, two hundred, three hundred...

The period from three to four in the afternoon seemed to be a peak time, with hundreds of candidates arriving suddenly.

At exactly four o'clock, the girl in the server's uniform at the entrance closed the restaurant door, signaling that the time was up and no new candidates would be accepted.

Six hundred and twenty-one, that was the number of candidates in the restaurant, much fewer than in previous years.

From start to finish, Tonpa sat quietly in his seat. With Luo around, he didn't dare to offer drinks to anyone, so none of the drinks he had prepared this year were given out, except for the one Luo took.

"Please, just get your license this year and leave!" Tonpa cautiously glanced at Luo, who was deep in thought, praying in his heart. If not for Luo's presence, he would have started distributing drinks already.

If Tonpa knew that Luo enjoyed participating every year, he wouldn't know what to think.

"Ding-a-ling."

A doorbell-like sound suddenly rang out from somewhere in the restaurant.

Six hundred and twenty-one candidates looked towards the sound and saw a tall, middle-aged man in a chef's uniform walking out from the kitchen.

The middle-aged man was imposing, standing nearly two meters tall with thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a square nose. His facial features were solid, and his expressionless face gave off an invisible sense of oppression.

As the middle-aged man walked out, a series of waiters carrying dishes followed, heading towards the buffet area and categorizing the dishes into the buffet trays. Their efficiency and coordination were top-notch.

The middle-aged man stood by, watching the busy waiters, while scanning the crowded restaurant.

"My name is Ardini, I'm the owner of the Santa Yammari restaurant and the examiner for your first test."

Examiner Ardini, as he introduced himself, looked around at the candidates present and continued, "Each of you has a list obtained with a coin. The test is simple: finish eating the food listed within ten minutes."
