Chapter 253: A Face Full of Paste

Luo had few interactions with Hisoka, but from the original work, he had a certain understanding of him and thought that if he proposed a duel to the death, Hisoka would readily agree.

To his surprise, Hisoka actually refused.

That guy, who sought pleasure from intense battles, who always believed he was the strongest, should enjoy dancing on the edge of a knife. There was no reason for him to refuse the proposal.

"Hisoka refused the proposal! So, this match won't turn into a death duel!" the announcer girl said.

The audience didn't mind; they were just there to watch a fighting match. The life or death of the participants was secondary to them.

The referee looked at the two of them, quite tactful, and didn't immediately start the match. He thought Luo seemed to still want to persuade Hisoka to agree to the death duel mode.

Luo looked at Hisoka and said earnestly, "Would you reconsider?"

"A death duel? There's no benefit for me, so why should I agree?" Hisoka raised his index finger and gently stroked his neck, a motion that reminded Luo.

So that was it...

Luo hadn't considered this before. The effects of the ability 'God's Hand' were still lingering on Hisoka, so it was indeed of no benefit to him to agree to a death duel.

"How about we make it a bet?" Hisoka stared at Luo, smiling, "Here, there."

He pointed to his neck and then to his right ankle, his tone carrying a hint of melancholy uncharacteristic of him, and said, "These two issues... have been bothering me."

Saying this, he suddenly performed a trick, taking his head off and placing it in his hands.

"Although it's quite interesting, it's always a hassle." With his head in his hands, Hisoka's eyes slightly squinted.

Seeing this, the referee stepped back several steps in fright, but Luo remained calm, not scared at all.

A wave of exclamations came from the audience seats. Taking his head off without any issue, it must be a magic trick, right?

"So?" Luo glanced at Hisoka's head.

Hisoka put his head back on and said, "If I win, you'll have to help me sort out this trouble."

"And if I win?" Luo asked.

"Anything you want." Hisoka revealed a dangerous smile.

"Okay, I agree." Luo said.

"Ah~ that's great."

Hisoka twisted his waist, relieved, "Today I can finally deal with these two troubles."

By implication, he felt that he was sure to win this battle, an unreasonable confidence.

But Hisoka was just such a person, always believing he was the strongest.

In the audience seats, Bisky frowned slightly.

Lying...

She was a master of lying, very skilled in lie detection, and from Hisoka's continual pointing out those two troubles, it was clear he was lying.

That is to say, the detached head and ankle were not a hassle, so there was no need to make that bet.

What was the purpose of lying? What was the motive?

Bisky's gaze shifted to Luo. She had no obligation nor plan to remind him; it was up to Luo to handle it himself.

Luo didn't realize Hisoka was lying, but "anything you want," coming from Hisoka's mouth, lacked credibility.

However, since this match could not evolve into a death duel, he couldn't act on his whims to kill, because the referee would intervene unless his knockout blow to Hisoka could kill him outright.

The referee, who had been startled earlier, composed himself and moved forward a few steps, seeing that both were ready, and then announced the start of the match.

Luo raised his hand, firing several Nen bullets the size of marbles at Hisoka.

Shoo, shoo, shoo!

The Nen bullets flew towards Hisoka.

Hisoka stretched his hands backward, lifting his palms inward, mysteriously revealing two playing cards between his fingers, hidden in his palms, unseen by Luo.

Maintaining this posture, he moved left and right, easily dodging Luo's Nen bullets, then continued to charge at Luo.

"The speed of the Nen bullets isn't slow, yet you dodge them so easily..."

Luo waited for Hisoka to get closer, then suddenly launched ten Nen bullets, sealing the space Hisoka could dodge into.

Hisoka had no choice but to jump up, avoiding the Nen bullets, but his body was in a state of suspension.

The power of Nen bullets and fists were not on the same level; to maximize damage, fists were far more useful than Nen bullets.

The second wave of Nen bullets, Luo calculated based on the first wave, waiting for Hisoka to close the distance, then fired ten Nen

bullets aimed at the low air zone, mainly to force Hisoka to jump to avoid them.

As expected, Luo thought, being mid-air without any leverage, was the best target.

Luo stepped forward, rushing to use this opportunity to strike Hisoka hard, not aiming to kill him with one blow, but to severely injure him.

However, Luo did not notice the playing cards Hisoka hid in his hand. When he prepared to attack, he saw Hisoka in mid-air flick his wrist, throwing two aura-wrapped playing cards at him.

"Well hidden..."

Luo stopped his charge, dodging the two playing cards, and missed an opportunity to attack.

Hisoka landed steadily but no longer took the initiative to attack, instead staying in place.

Luo glanced at the playing cards stuck in the stone slab ahead, expressionlessly flicked two Nen bullets at them.

The Nen bullets sped past, severing the pink Nen threads on the playing cards.

"Discovered, huh."

Hisoka said regretfully, then suddenly moved again, charging at Luo, with the two now very close.

Luo's Nen energy slowly flowed, secretly seeping into the floor through his feet.

A good little trick, either to control or to create traps.

Hisoka's mouth curved slightly; he had done his homework before coming!

When Hisoka shortened the distance to five meters, the stone slab on the ground suddenly flipped up, sending him flying, his upper body moving towards Luo.

However, at that moment, Hisoka's feet, using 'Bungee Gum,' stuck to the stone slab, so as the slab flipped up, he was like a figurine glued to the base, together with the stone slab.

With a leverage point, he could maintain his body balance.

As Hisoka leaned towards Luo, he calmly threw several playing cards at close range, restraining Luo's counterattack speed.

Luo, however, raised his hand, stopping the playing cards, then sent them back.

Hisoka's eyes narrowed, and he spread a pink membrane between his palms, blocking the incoming playing cards, then tried to use the rebound force to bounce the playing cards back, but Luo was already close.

Reluctantly, Hisoka let go of the playing cards.

Luo's speed was faster than he imagined. When the playing cards fell from the pink membrane, Luo already threw a punch.

At a critical moment, Hisoka removed the Nen from his feet stuck on the stone slab, sliding downward, dodging Luo's punch. But Luo reacted quickly. After a missed punch, without waiting for him to adjust his posture, a combination punch thundered over.

"Face it?"

Judging Luo's attack trajectory, Hisoka, with an unstable stance, brought his hands together and raised them, like a boxing defense posture, across his face, while gathering aura on his arms.

Bang, bang, bang!

As a large stone slab flew over their heads, Luo instantly threw five punches, all landing on Hisoka's arms.

Accompanied by a dull sound, Hisoka's body flew backward at low altitude, passing over a shallow pit missing a stone slab, then landed and slid out seven or eight meters before stopping.

Hisoka lowered his arms, suddenly pulling back, simultaneously contracting the Nen threads.

At the moment Luo's fists struck his arms, he took the opportunity to stick 'Bungee Gum' onto Luo's fists.

A strong pull came from the fists, and Luo's body was tugged, but he merely smiled.

Using this pulling force, he suddenly half-squatted down, transforming his fists into palms with the properties of 'God's Hand,' inserted his hands into the floor, and simultaneously cut off Hisoka's Nen, sticking it to the stone slab.

In an instant, Luo stumbled, although he didn't fall, he also lost his balance.

At the same time, the stone slab, now covered with 'Bungee Gum,' rapidly flew towards Hisoka.

Initially hoping to pull Luo over, causing him to lose his balance, he ended up pulling back a stone slab instead.

"Tsk tsk..."

Hisoka sighed, then was hit by the stone slab, getting smeared with it, flying off the arena and landing heavily.
