Chapter 211: Advanced Techniques

The battle ended quickly. Luo took two hits from Biscuit, spat some blood, but wasn’t seriously harmed. After all, his body has become much more robust now, enhancing his resilience.

Although Sanbica had been with Biscuit for half a year, she had never seen her fight until now. Witnessing it firsthand, she could only admire that a one-star Hunter like Biscuit could dominate Luo in just a few rounds.

Biscuit, after all, is a master of the Heart Source style and one of the few powerful figures in the Hunter Association. It’s normal for her to overpower Luo in combat.

“Let’s treat him,” Biscuit said as she walked over.

Luo stood up, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and went over to Sanbica, asking her to heal him.

While Sanbica was healing Luo, Biscuit reflected on the fight.

Regarding Luo’s Nen, if applied properly, it could be a powerful tool in close combat. However, with the current level of power, it was hard to affect her.

The ability to alter the terrain from a distance could give him a tactical advantage, but the downside was that the Nen fluctuations were too obvious when used remotely.

Overall, Luo's fine control over his Nen was solid enough not to need training from the basics, but instead to focus on mastering advanced techniques, such as Ken and Ryu.

In Nen battles, the most basic yet most difficult trick to master is the transfer of offensive and defensive aura, which is an advanced technique called Ryu!

Unlike other techniques, mastering a quick and strong transfer of offensive and defensive aura requires rich experience and high aptitude. It’s not a skill where mere hard training guarantees results.

A powerful Nen user must possess quick Nen movement skills and the ability to switch between offense and defense properly.

These aspects were where Luo currently fell short, especially in mastering Ryu. If Luo could speed up his Ryu, he wouldn’t have suffered internal injuries and could have continued fighting her.

“There’s half a year left. If Luo wants to surpass Antomu, the key lies in the burst strength of his thoughts and a qualified 'Ryu'. If there’s enough time, teaching him 'Ko' might also be possible,” Biscuit pondered, touching her chin. Since Luo's fundamentals were solid, there was no need to waste time on basic skills.

A few minutes later, Sanbica finished the healing.

Biscuit, who had hit Luo, hadn’t used Ryu to enhance the attack’s power, so although Luo vomited blood, the injuries weren’t very severe. Under Sanbica’s healing, he would recover in about two or three days.

“Today, I'll explain the principles of using advanced techniques, and we'll start practicing tomorrow,” Biscuit said, raising her index finger, seemingly unconcerned that Sanbica was listening in.

Upon hearing Biscuit's words, Luo and Sanbica immediately focused their minds, knowing their skills in advanced techniques were quite weak.

“First is En, which is using Ten, wrapping the aura around an object the body touches, which increases the object’s hardness and destructive power. Nen users commonly excel in En regarding their preferred weapons.”

“In is a further application of Zetsu, allowing the user to utilize aura in a way that the opponent can hardly detect, making it a common technique among Conjurer Nen users since In can make conjured objects semi-tangible, facilitating surprise attacks.”

“Gyo involves concentrating a part of the aura on a specific part of the body. While it is an applied skill, it's also considered a basic one.”

“Ken combines Ten and Ren in a technique that projects the aura outward from the user, allowing them to sense enemies within the aura’s range.”

“Ken, like En, combines Ten and Ren but operates differently. While En involves spreading out the aura after diluting it, Ken focuses and compresses the aura, then coats the body with it.”

“The former has no lethal power and is usually used for reconnaissance, while the latter is a crucial technique in Nen combat.”

“It should be noted that while Ken can significantly enhance the body’s offensive and defensive capabilities, maintaining Ken is very draining. A Nen user’s competence can be measured by whether they can maintain Ken for half an hour.”

Biscuit explained five techniques, raising a finger for each. After explaining all five, she spread her right hand open.

Her pace was neither fast nor slow, unconcerned whether Luo and Sanbica understood, because she would pick them out one by one and practice slowly in the subsequent training.

“Ryu is a must-master in Nen combat and the most difficult to advance!”

Biscuit raised her left hand, showing a sixth finger, representing the sixth technique.

“Ryu, while in a state of Ken, involves quickly shifting the evenly distributed aura to a specific body part,

optimizing the switch between offensive and defensive power. The quicker the transfer, the more efficient the switch.”

“The more proficient the mastery of Ryu, the better the effect of the aura can be utilized. Just improving the conversion rate between attack and defense ensures no waste of aura.”

Biscuit, seeing Luo and Sanbica listening intently, raised a seventh finger and calmly said: “The last technique, Ko!”

“If Ryu is the most difficult to advance, then Ko is the toughest to master.”

“It is a high-level application technique that can only be used by combining Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Gyo, essentially focusing all the aura at one point to create a 100% lethal effect, whether on a part of the body or a weapon in contact.”

“However, when all the aura is concentrated at one point, the rest of the body’s defense becomes null. If the opponent catches this opportunity, it can lead to severe injuries or even death.”

“These are the seven advanced techniques beyond the basics. I will later devise a training method for each technique, so don’t worry if you don’t understand everything now.”

Biscuit looked at Luo, having explained all the techniques, then lowered her hands.

En, In, Gyo, Ken, Ken, Ryu, Ko, these were the techniques Luo needed to master and advance as quickly as possible.

Both Luo and Sanbica had excellent memory and comprehension; they remembered everything after hearing it once.

“No need to wait until tomorrow, I can start practicing now!” Just hearing Biscuit’s simplified explanations, Luo was eager to master the advanced techniques quickly.

Seeing Luo so eager, Biscuit probably guessed why; it was precisely because she had beaten him down earlier, which suddenly boosted his enthusiasm.

Indeed, Luo had been training hard for half a year, yet he was still suppressed by Biscuit’s restrained power. It should be noted that the half-year of training was actually equivalent to at least three years of results, primarily because of Ms. Cookie’s auxiliary abilities, which allowed him to leverage five to ten times the effect in just six months.

Despite this, Luo was still beaten, and mastering advanced techniques quickly would change the current situation.

“Call out the black cat,” Biscuit thought for a moment and then decided to go along with Luo’s enthusiasm, ignoring his injuries and immediately starting the training.

“Did you hear me?” Luo immediately raised his right hand upon hearing her.

The black cat reluctantly crawled out from the back of his hand.

“Turn into a stick,” Biscuit looked at the now visible black cat and said.

“Impossible! That’s the biggest insult to me!” the black cat immediately refused.

Biscuit didn’t say anything but raised her fist and smiled.

Seeing Biscuit’s enigmatic smile, the black cat relented and obediently transformed into a black stick.

“I want you to stay in a state of Ren. Later, I’ll randomly strike you with the stick at different parts of your body. Before the stick hits, you must use Gyo to gather a portion of your aura on the part where the stick will land,” she said.

After speaking, she suddenly struck Luo’s right shoulder at a not-so-fast speed, then said, “This is the initial speed. Later, I’ll gradually increase the speed depending on the situation. Understood?”

Luo nodded vigorously, readying himself, his body surging with aura.

Biscuit didn’t immediately start; she suddenly turned to Sanbica and said, “You come too.”

Sanbica lit up at this, eager to participate. While she couldn’t train physically, she could join in the training of Nen skills.
