Chapter 203: Training Location

The world of Hunters is a martial world, and among those taking the Hunter Exam, only a handful aspire to become Gourmet Hunters; in fact, most people look down on Gourmet Hunters.

This is evident from the Hunter Exam in the original story.

When Buhara and Menchi serve as examiners as one-star Gourmet Hunters, the tests they offer are naturally related to cuisine, but many candidates mockingly laugh upon hearing the questions.

In their view, being a Hunter is linked to strength, not being a cook.

This misconception is a natural misguidance and is not something that can be reversed overnight.

Gourmet Hunters are not merely cooks; they are not martial artists, but they often have good physical conditioning, as high-grade ingredients usually contain life energy, which Gourmet Hunters frequently handle.

Another point is that hunting high-grade ingredients requires corresponding strength, thus, despite their small numbers, Gourmet Hunters' overall strength is not inferior to that of bounty hunters who regularly chase criminals.

After Bisky tries a piece, before Luo could ask if it tastes good, her hand shakes with an illusion, and she quickly picks up another piece and throws it into her mouth.

Then, the black cat swallows a piece and dashes over to snatch another.

Seeing this, Sanbica, as if afraid of missing out, joins the fray; she picks up a piece, slightly lifts her mask, and chews on the crab claw meat.

The crab claw sinks into her teeth, juice bursts forth, coating her taste buds and sending flavors to the brain's taste center; as the crab claw slides down her throat into her stomach, a warm sensation spreads within her body.

"It's delicious."

She looks at Luo, her eyes shining like the lone star in the night sky.

Luo smiles slightly. Every time Sanbica enjoys his cooking, she always praises it first, as if that were the proper etiquette of a foodie.

The efficiency of Bisky and the black cat in snatching food is quite astonishing. Luo hasn't even started eating, and more than half of the crab claw meat in the dish is gone, yet the essence, the vermicelli, is ignored.

It seems that the presence of the crab claw meat is much stronger than that of the vermicelli.

Luo shakes his head and joins in the grabbing. As he tastes the crab claw meat, the average percentage increases to 38%, about to break through 40%.

"Looking at this rate, it might take two years to reach 100%, and I haven't even absorbed the Hatsu from the score. I'm afraid reaching 40% might put me in 'Zetsu' state, which could affect my future training."

As he sees his attributes nearing 40%, Luo thinks about the potential situations he might face, merely tasting the food without rushing his eating. Thus, after just a few bites, the plate of crab claw meat is empty, leaving only a pile of vermicelli.

After tasting the crab claw meat, Bisky and the others naturally turn their attention to the vermicelli, finding another kind of satisfaction.

Clearly, one serving is not enough for Bisky and the others, so Luo goes back to the kitchen and makes another batch, which is quickly devoured.

After a satisfying meal, the black cat contentedly returns to Luo's right hand, waiting for the next meal.

Bisky, her eyes bright, looks at Luo and strokes her chin, praising, "Your cooking skills are quite something. In that case, the training location should be changed."

She had already decided on the training location for teaching Luo, but after witnessing his first-class culinary skills, she considers switching to a place with more ingredients.

"Training?" Sanbica looks over.

"Yes, I haven't told you yet," Luo says, facing Sanbica's inquiring gaze. "I'm going to train with Bisky for a year."

He used to call her 'Master', but now he calls her Bisky because she felt the title 'Master' made her sound old, so she asked Luo to just call her by her name.

"Oh," Sanbica nods, her expression calm, seemingly deep in thought.

Luo hesitates for a moment, then asks, "Together?"

This time, Sanbica responds without hesitation, "Okay."

Luo smiles upon hearing this, immediately looking at Bisky. He really wants Sanbica to be taught by Bisky as well, because Sanbica is physically very fragile.

"Is that okay?" he asks Bisky.

Bisky nods, "Her Nen can speed up the healing of injuries, which can assist in your training. This way, there's no need to be overly cautious."

As she says this, Bisky shows a dangerous smile.

Luo's body involuntarily shudders, as he imagines himself being beaten up by Bisky.

"We leave tomorrow morning, the destination is The Milsy Wetlands," Bisky continues.

She has changed the training location to The Milsy Wetlands, a place also known as the Scammer's Nest, an ecosystem composed of creatures that use deception as a hunting method, and it's often used in the Hunter Exam.

"The Milsy Wetlands..." Luo knows this place because it's one of the stages in the Hunter Exam in the original story.

After announcing the destination, Bisky does not reveal the training plan but goes to take a shower. Afterwards, she sits on the couch, playing with Stajy's Tears.

Each time she acquires a rare gem, she admires it for a while before adding it to her collection, then pursues the next target.

Sanbica quietly returns to her computer, continuing her work, perfecting various virus information, and then entering it into the database.

When Luo snaps back to reality, all that's left for him is a mess on the table, which he reluctantly cleans up.

Coming out of the kitchen, Bisky is infatuatedly admiring the gemstone, like a young girl hopelessly in love.

Seeing Bisky admiring the gemstone, Luo thinks of the score and also of the Singer's Heart.

Whether to absorb the Nen from the score still needs consideration; at least he needs to know what the first stage of Bisky's plan is, and also about the Singer's Heart.

He decides to hold off on the score for now. Luo goes into his room, takes out the crimson Singer's Heart, intending to offer it to Bisky as a gift for accepting him as a disciple.

Luo approaches Bisky with the gemstone.

Bisky immediately notices the Singer's Heart in Luo's hand and leaps from the couch, snatching the gemstone from his hand.

By the time Luo reacts, the gemstone is already in Bisky's hands, his heart tightens.

If Bisky wants to kill me, I probably wouldn't even have a chance to gather my aura...!

Bisky didn't expect that just reaching for the gemstone would lead Luo to such a conclusion.

She examines the Singer's Heart, recognizing it as a gemstone of quality not inferior to Stajy's Tears.

"Where did this come from?" Bisky asks, returning the gemstone to Luo.

If their relationship hadn't already been established, she, as a Gem Hunter, would have snatched it without a second thought.

"I found it at the ruins of Parlo City. This gemstone and Stajy's Tears are a pair," Luo explains as he takes the gemstone.

"A pair?" Bisky looks at the Stajy's Tears in her hand.

"Give me Stajy's Tears for a moment," Luo reaches out his hand.

Bisky hands over Stajy's Tears without hesitation.

Luo takes Stajy's Tears, turns it over, and finds a shallow heart-shaped inlay. He presses the Singer's Heart into the inlay, and with a slight click, the surrounding silver frame fits perfectly.

Simultaneously, the teardrop-shaped gem turns a deep purple with hints of blue.

"This is..." Bisky's eyes widen.

At this moment, Sanbica comes over, also interested in the secret of the gemstone.

Purple signifies eternal and profound love.

Since the gemstone is meant as a gift for Bisky, Luo hesitates to explain; he simply takes it into the sunlight, and ancient purple text is cast onto the ground.

"Is this the secret?" Sanbica asks curiously.

Luo nods, then hands the paired gemstone pendant to Bisky, who immediately asks, "This ruby isn't cheap, you're just giving it to me?"

"Consider it a gift for accepting me as your disciple," Luo says.

"Then I'll accept it," Bisky isn't coy, she straightforwardly accepts it, then asks, "What does that line of text mean?"

Hearing this question, Sanbica also looks at Luo.

"A journey toward eternity," Luo answers.

This is the message the White Smoke font told him after the combination.

When he saw this phrase, he only thought of a journey toward the unknown, hoping that road has no end.
