Chapter 21: Experience

April 25, 1985.

Luo personally killed a demon disguised in human skin.

Defeating Cook involved a great deal of luck; it was a gamble of life and death. If the Nen ability he used had not worked, Luo would have been the one lying on the ground.

Luo's decision-making and calculations were certainly impressive, but the fundamental reason for his victory was Cook's own downfall.

Underestimating Luo was Cook's biggest mistake, followed by his neurotic paranoia.

Cook had decided on "excessive blood loss" as Luo's cause of death because he wanted to see blood gushing out like a hot spring, thus always targeting Luo's carotid artery.

In previous nonsensical ramblings, not only did he reveal his ability but also voluntarily shared its origin, providing Luo with ample imagination space. This once again proved the truth that villains die because they talk too much.

Considering these points, Luo designed a trap waiting for Cook to step into—a double-edged sword trap where success meant survival, and failure meant death.

Luckily, Cook underestimated his opponent, or else it would have been difficult to win this battle of the underdog against the stronger foe.

Had Luo's fundamentals been solid, Cook would have had no reason to underestimate him.

"Thank you for teaching me a good lesson. Hmm, what was your name? Cook something? Nevermind, you're dead anyway." Luo shook his head slightly, gaining many insights from this battle.

If Luo were to reach the pinnacle in the future, Cook's contribution would be undeniable.

Without further thought, Luo quickly made his way to Machi, whose tense expression gradually relaxed.

Machi had been stabbed in both legs and thrown to the ground, powerless to do anything but watch Luo fight on his own.

She had thought Luo would be stuck in a tough battle but didn't expect him to defeat Cook so quickly.

At that moment, Machi secretly hoped Luo would have the heart to kill Cook.

And indeed, Luo met her expectations, killing Cook without hesitation.

Facing evil, this was the right choice, as kindness and mercy would only lead to endless troubles.

"Welcome to Meteor Street."

Seeing Luo running towards her, Machi gave him a slight smile.

Luo was taken aback, as he rarely saw Machi smile. Her smile at that moment was truly adorable.

However...

Luo approached Machi and slapped her forehead with his palm, scolding, "Are you stupid? Allowing your wounds to bleed out like this?"

Saying this, he disregarded Machi's reaction, tore his sleeves into strips, and skillfully wrapped and bandaged her wounds.

Given the limited conditions, there was no time to worry about disinfection.

"Don't worry about me, go check on Uvogin and Nobunaga." Machi's forehead had been hit, and she could no longer smile, thinking to herself how harsh Luo could be.

"Let me bandage you first. Do you need me to pick up your gas mask?" Luo hastened his actions.

Machi's mask had flown off when she was thrown, and the same happened to Uvogin and Nobunaga.

Wearing masks in the Junkyard was not because the air was toxic but because prolonged inhalation could cause significant harm.

"Yes." Machi nodded.

"Got it." After quickly bandaging Machi's wounds, Luo went to pick up the gas masks and helped her put hers on before heading towards Uvogin and Nobunaga.

Machi watched Luo's departing figure, her lips curling slightly.

"My intuition is never wrong."

....

After arriving, Luo immediately checked on Uvogin and Nobunaga's injuries.

Upon inspection, he realized the situation was grim.

"Is there a fracture? It'd be troublesome if the internal organs were damaged."

Luo gently probed Uvogin's slightly indented chest with minimal force to check his condition.

After getting an idea, he also checked Uvogin's mouth to ensure no blood was still flowing, relaxing his furrowed brows slightly.

He then used the same method to check Nobunaga, finding his injuries to be more severe, probably due to Uvogin's superior physical condition.

"No wonder these two were so formidable years later. Ordinary people hit by a Nen user's punch would either die or be severely injured."

Luo stroked his chin, his expression grave.

"Anyway, we need to get them to a hospital immediately, uh...this is Meteor Street."

Luo rubbed his forehead and turned to look at Machi, intending to ask if there was a hospital in Meteor Street, but saw her silently crawling towards them, darkening his face.

"What are you doing?"

Luo stood up, walked to Machi's side, and spoke with a tone of helplessness.

"How does it look?"

Machi, unfazed, immediately asked.

"Uvogin is in a slightly better condition, but

 Nobunaga's situation is not optimistic."

Luo lifted Machi, glanced at her thigh soaked through the makeshift bandage, and hurried towards Uvogin and Nobunaga.

Upon arriving, Luo gently set Machi down and hesitated over whether to use God's Hand on Nobunaga.

If he could remove the rib and internal organ area, he would be able to assess the injuries, but it would be embarrassing if he couldn't put them back.

"We need to take them to the church immediately." Machi, sitting on the ground, bit her lip.

"The church?" Luo looked at Machi.

Machi explained, "The church in the center of Meteor Street takes in babies and collects corpses. It's the only place with medical equipment and doctors."

"The center of Meteor Street? It'll take almost an hour to get there." Luo looked at Uvogin lying on the ground, then at Machi's bleeding thigh, caught in a dilemma.

To quickly get Nobunaga to the church, he would have to leave Uvogin and Machi behind while carrying Nobunaga.

Perhaps sensing Luo's dilemma, Machi seriously said, "Take Nobunaga there first, then come back for Uvogin."

"But..." Luo frowned, knowing this was the best option, but it would leave Uvogin and Machi in greater danger.

"Cough, cough."

At that moment, Uvogin suddenly coughed heavily, drawing Luo and Machi's attention.

Luo immediately went to Uvogin's side, surprised to find Uvogin's eyes slowly opening, showing signs of waking up.

After a moment, Uvogin's eyes fully opened, revealing a confused look.

"Does it hurt anywhere?" Luo asked immediately.

Uvogin shook his head slightly, then suddenly sat up, leaving Luo unable to stop him.

"Crack." A soft sound of bone echoed, then Uvogin's face twitched, furrowing his brows as if feeling pain.

"..." Luo was speechless, wondering if Uvogin realized his condition.

"Where is that guy?" Uvogin endured the pain, his first question about Cook.

"Dead. Your sternum might be partially fractured; it's best not to move around." Luo reminded him, adding to himself: Uvogin is a monster.

"Did you kill him?" Uvogin looked surprised, then suddenly stood up from the ground, seemingly unconcerned about his chest injury, as if the blood in his mouth was fake.

"Great."

Luo rolled his eyes and decisively ignored Uvogin, running to find Nobunaga.
