Chapter 6: The Little Girl Development Plan

The next noon, Luo Lie suddenly opened his eyes, got up from the bed plank, and felt refreshed.

Machi was not in the room, and he didn't know where she went.

Luo Lie looked up at the old clock on the wall and realized it was already past noon.

"Gurulu..."

A severe protest came from his stomach, the portion of a bowl of rice soup per meal was really too small.

Luo Lie touched his stomach, got out of bed, and saw a bowl of rice soup on the table, presumably prepared by Machi before she left.

Looking silently at the bowl of rice soup for a long time, Luo Lie felt warmth in his heart, and at the same time, he thought of Machi more than ten years later.

"This cute and kind little girl, I must not let her become a member of the Phantom Troupe in the future. The little girl development plan starts now!"

Luo Lie made up his mind, went into the bathroom to wash up simply, and then quickly swallowed the cold rice soup to relieve the hunger in his stomach.

After consuming the rice soup, his stomach felt much better, and he began his cultivation again.

Knowing the dangers of the world of Hunters, only strength could serve as a shield to protect oneself, and only strength could become a weapon to obtain what one wanted.

Luo Lie, who had touched the threshold of Nen abilities, didn't care whether the direction of his cultivation was correct. He used his own understanding and methods to step by step enhance his control over Qi.

If the levels of Nen users were to be differentiated, they would be Perception, Comprehension, Manipulation, Mastery, Transcendence...

Perception is having a clear cognition of Qi, Comprehension is being able to feel the existence of Qi, also known as opening pores to let more and stronger Qi flow, and Manipulation is the entry realm of Nen users.

Manipulation is a dividing line; only those who can manipulate Qi can be called Nen users. Beyond that is the realm of first-rate masters, where the higher the control of Qi, the smoother the flow and the easier the offense and defense transformation.

Most Nen users are in the realm of Manipulation, and based on the degree of Qi manipulation, these Nen users can be divided into high, middle, and low levels. Similarly, even if one reaches the realm of Mastery, levels can still be divided.

In fact, there is no clear level differentiation among Nen users, nor can one judge the outcome of a battle solely based on levels. After all, setting aside the mastery and quantity and quality of Qi, the myriad of Nen abilities derived from the six major types are unpredictable, not to mention factors like timing and location that can affect strength.

Luo Lie, who had just stepped into the realm of Manipulation, couldn't even be considered low-level. However, as a transmigrator, without anyone's guidance, he directly skipped Perception and Comprehension, like a baby who started running before learning to crawl.

Without a solid foundation, even if one learns to run in a very short time with a genius's posture, when it comes time to fly, they will surely fall hard. But the assistive system in Luo Lie's consciousness might turn hidden disadvantages into benefits.

To some extent, Luo Lie, carrying a unique system in his consciousness, can be considered an outlier among Nen users. Even if the path he takes is wrong, it doesn't necessarily lead to a dead end.

Now, Luo Lie didn't think too much. His whole mind was focused on how to strengthen his control over Qi. The first skill he practiced among the four basic skills was "Ten!"

At least to learn how to manipulate Qi, he would explore what Nen ability instantly removed Machi's clothes and underwear.

Just hoping... that still unknown Nen ability isn't just for removing clothes.

Thus, when Machi was not at home, Luo Lie spent almost all his time cultivating, and when Machi returned, she taught him the common language.

Time passed day by day, but every meal was still just a bowl of rice soup without any side dishes.

Each time he ate, Luo Lie thought of Machi's frail body hidden under her clothes and silently decided to improve their diet after mastering the language and understanding the situation in Meteor Street.

Time flew by, and half a month later, Luo Lie could already keep the "Qi" stable in his upper body. Under Machi's clumsy teaching, he basically mastered the common language of this world and occasionally asked about the situation in Meteor Street, now having a basic understanding of it.

Meteor Street, a junkyard, was designated as a dump site more than fifteen hundred years ago, allowing any country to discard anything there.

Garbage, corpses, babies, industrial waste... anything deemed useless could be dumped there.

Although the area outside Meteor Street was basically filled with trash, the streets inside

were clean and neat, with buildings mostly in yellow and white. The materials used were not bad either. If one disregards the garbage dump outside, it would be a normal town.

Residents of Meteor Street are those abandoned, essentially stateless people without any identifiable records. The residents mainly live on recyclable items from the dump.

However, with so much trash, including industrial waste, dangerous materials from failed chemical experiments, and various substances harmful to humans, one would need full protective gear to try their luck at the dump.

This was why Machi needed to wear protective gear to go to the dump.

Self-reliance is the basic condition for survival here. Even if you are a child without any support, you won't receive any special treatment. This environment could be described as a unique form of survival of the fittest.

On the twenty-fourth day after Luo Lie arrived, maybe because the rice was finished, Machi once again put on her protective gear, preparing to go to the dump to find materials of value to exchange for food.

"Luo, from today on, I won't provide food for you. If you don't want to starve, come with me to the dump," Machi, wearing protective gear, said calmly to Luo Lie.

This time, Machi didn't seem to plan on going out alone.

The name Luo Lie, when spoken in the common language, was very awkward and hard to pronounce. If only "Luo" was used, it sounded much smoother, so Luo Lie simply dropped "Lie" and changed his name to a single character.

"I've been waiting impatiently!" Luo said with a slight smile, twisting his neck to produce a cracking sound. He had stayed in the room mainly because he was unfamiliar with the environment and language barrier. Now without these concerns, he was eager to go out and see.

Moreover, he had long been fed up with eating rice soup every day.

Seeing the excited Luo, Machi's eyes sparkled slightly, she nodded, picked up the gas mask hanging on the wall, and then walked towards the door.

"You owe me twenty-four days of meals. I'll charge you triple the interest. The lodging fee is waived, oh, and the redemption fee for the stone is separate," Machi suddenly stopped in front of the door.

Luo, upon hearing this, had several black lines fall on his forehead, helplessly saying, "Okay, okay, and that's not called a stone, it's called jade!"

"Oh."

Machi responded indifferently and walked out the door.

Luo patted his forehead, indicating his helplessness, and followed her.

The residents of Meteor Street live on the waste from the dump, and Luo was not averse to this. On the contrary, he now only wanted to improve their dietary conditions quickly.

Not just for himself, but also for Machi.
