Have fun watching the discussion on this one, I'm (Caleb) an absolute emotional wreck throughout it. I was not ready for how close to home this episode with Tsukki would hit me.

"How can a show be this good" that's Haikyuu in a nutshell

TrianaNero

What a wonderful and inspiration discussion you guys ;__; Seriously, I had some high expectation, but this just blew it to dust, it was such a pleasure to watch. I teared up myself at some point during the discussion and had to cause my glasses got foggy xD Think this discussion even motivated me to get through my finals. "I love Haikyuu so much" and "how can a show be this good" is just the mood board for today. And it kinda blows my mind when I think about what you still have to see, and I'm pretty sure it's gonna blow yours too. I remembered so many things from both the past episodes and the ones yet to come for you just from listening to your discussion. Hard to believe that, but it just keeps getting better.

“How did I end up adopting fifteen boys?” -every Haikyuu watcher 2k18

wow, i truly think your speech about passion (around 36:30) is something i can use to give some advice to one of my friends. I just stared at the screen like holy shit the words you used were the ones i was truely looking for...

spoiler get rid of this

It goes back to what Kiyoko was saying to Yachi back in the beginning of this season. To start something you don't need a whole abundance of passion; sometimes just a little curiosity would be enough and you might end up really liking it. This show, man...

The time for Tsukki and Yamaguchi finally comes! I love these two boys! Now let's wait for the snowball! Compared to Hinata and Kageyama, I can find some of myself more in Tsukki and Yamaguchi. And I guess that's why I feel this episode so great. It somehow answered my question "How can people devote themselves so much into something?". Different characters have their own answers, and we can find our own's too.

Ahh man this is still one of my favorite episodes, but like you said, the development only starts from here on out and boy is it AMAZING. Tsukki's character progression just hits so hard, even in the manga beyond where the anime leaves off, to the point where I really do think that it holds up to the development of Hinata and Kageyama. The Third Gym crew are also some of my all time favorite characters besides the ones in Seijoh, and I'm so excited for you to see what is in store for all of them!

I can't wait for their reaction to season 3. Whenever I see them react, i just want to watch the whole season again.

Amazing episode, wonderful discussion! These couple of episodes, at the training camp, are my favourites of the whole season (except for like 2 at the end). I'm so happy that you see that Bokuto (number 4 ;) ) and Kuroo are like BFFs, they're hilarious together xD It's even better that Akaashi (the guy that was with Bokuto and Kuroo) states everything in such a dead pan kind of way! Also, Bokuto's speech this episode is probably one of the best moments of all the seasons so far! Can't wait for next week's episode!!

Awesome discussion guys! Man, when I tell you I'm addicted to Haikyuu - I mean it. Cause I want the next episode right now! I can't wait to see your reaction to all the development for pretty much every character - most are small and you can miss them if you blink but boy is it amazing!

Elwood Short

when don't i want to watch the entire series again... Haikyu is my life now ;_;

Your reaction to this hit me so hard, and at a time when i am literally struggling to motivate myself. (you would think watching Haikyu! would be enough) Yeah, losing your way can be a hard place to recover from. But you nailed it here. TY . Also, i have said this before, 'Haikyu! is not reallys about volleyball, it is about teamwork and the pursuit of excellence', but next time, I will say "Haikyu! is not really about volleyball, it is about teamwork, PASSION and the pursuit of excellence"

sacombankmonkey

it seems a bit hard for you but thank you for sharing caleb

As an older sibling this resonates with me from Tsukki's brother's perspective. I try really hard to be everything and provide for my siblings and mom, make them believe that I am doing it all - no sweat, no regrets, no problem. But man oh man I cried my eyes out imagining them seeing the real me (I don't even know what that is or what'd be equivalent to what Tsukki saw) but that scene just broke me. Ah Caleb this man, I feel ya. And that is the beginning of what makes him and Yamaguchi climb up the favs list. Yamaguchi really was so cool in this. This is a painful but beautifully crafted episode Q_Q Fantastic reaction and discussion you guys!

This is why I'm a patreon. I love your decisions. You guys get so engrossed in these shows and you let all the emotions just crash into you. You laugh. You cry. Its just fantastic.

Hey guys I wanted to comment on things Haikyuu doesn't really go into real detail since it might bore you out, so I'll try to explain some things clearly that they don't really make clear. I also comment on their youtube video. Thank to those who liked the comments and thanks for reading/watching. Like your reactions Caleb and Jacob, can't wait for next week! So I wanted to highlight on my favorite character Nishinoya. Nishinoya is somewhat the unsong hero, sure you cheer for him when he saves the ball but mostly EVERYONE cheers for the spiker scoring the point. I kno for a fact since I played the same position as Nishinoya. Usually everyone says good spike (insert spiker's name here)! Then nobody really says great save or pass, in this show they do tho. Anyway Nishinoya's position is called Libero or "the defense specialist." reason being is that he's the best passer out of everyone on his team. If you noticed he wears a different colored jersey in an official match. Reason being he's always running off and on the court. A little bit on position in volleyball and how Karasuno does it. Watching the episodes I kinda know how Karasuno does their rotation. Basically you have 6 on the court. So Hinata and Tsuki are opposites from each other. So if Hinata is blocking in the middle, tsuki should be in the middle back position and vice versa if they keep rotating. BUT we know that Hinata and Tsuki are both terrible passers, SO in comes Nishinoya. The libero basically fills in for the spots where the crappy passers would have been. SO if Tsuki is in the middle blocker position and Hinata should be in the middle back poistion, Nishinoya runs in the spot for Hinata since he can't pass for his life. Also the Libero cannot do anything in the front row hence their name as defense specialist. They can only be in the back row positions. They also cannot serve the ball. So in the show (and every other national/high school/club/etc.), you see that Hinata and Tsuki normally serve. BUT once Karasuno loses that point and the other side gets to serve, Hinata/Tsuki would run off the court and Nishinoya runs in for those positions. They literally run off/on the court, they don't have to wait for the referee or anything. SOOOOO in short, Nishinoya is the defense specialist he cannot do any offensive plays. He runs in off and on the court for Hinata/Tsuki when they are rotated to the back after they serve the ball and lose the point. BUT once Nishinoya is about to rotate to the front row, Tsuki/Hinata quickly run in for Nishinoya since he was about to be in the front row. Then Tsuki/Hinata would serve but when loses the point Nishinoya quickly runs in again. Sorry for the long comment again hope you enjoyed some VBALL 101. Can't wait for the Umbrella!

Riru (〃^▽^〃)

I love how the cliche'd backstory would've been to have Tsukishima defend Yamaguichi from those bullies yet all Tsukki did was call him lame and walk away xD That's how you know that the author is letting the characters write the show rather than the standards.

Lynda Jaeger

This episode cemented Yamaguchi's cinnamon roll status for me! This also made me love Tsukki. Fetus Tsukki's pure and adorable personality made me give him a chance and now he is in my top 5. P.S. Fukurodani #4 is my favorite owl son Bokuto!

Lynda Jaeger

Ok...that last prediction was amazing....*sob*

Also, the music during Bokuto's speech was really good. Until this point the ost was good but didn't stand out that much. But during that moment, the ost was outstanding.

Sofi

Wow that last prediction you guys made gave me chills!!
