You guys remember how the only thing Falin had to say about Laios to Marcille was that he did a good dog impression? I don't think she told Shuro ANYTHING helpful. She may be just as quirky as Laios in some ways.

"F*** dropping hints, talk to me like a human being!!!" Exactly! You can see why so many neurodivergent/AuDHD folks relate to Laios and how well he's depicted as such here, people often take autistic and ADHD people for granted as frustrating and clueless when we don't pick up on social cues, when we just need them properly SPELLED OUT for us instead of relying on the hints that it's easier for neurotypical people to pick up on. I'm autistic, and people like Shuro holding in their resentment at our behavior instead of just USING THEIR MOUTHS and realizing they need to communicate with us a little more blatantly and clearly are very common, so this sort of media representation making the issue so clear to the viewers had me pumping my fist. :D I'm so glad that this manga/anime goes out of its way to spell it out and have Shuro sort of learn his lesson, just like the Laios's other party members are gradually learning about him.

Yeah, neurodivergence runs in families somewhat strongly and I think Falin's odd behaviors and interests might indicate some similarity to her brother, with different hyperfixations but some overlap.

I love their fight out for being so well-written and considered. Laios definitely has the higher ground here but there's added complexity what with Shuro being especially poorly-equipped to interact with someone like Laios. Since it's implied he's from fantasy Japan and assuming social mores are similar to actual Japan he would be very used to everyone relying on subtle hints and nods since a lot of Japanese culture has an emphasis on that kind of thing, about being very indirect especially when it comes to social interaction and confrontation.
