UPDATE: after many reports of SDRAM problems and particularly Elexor reporting that his SDRAM would work if he touched it with his finger; I had an idea to fix it and applied it this morning. The new core is in Google Drive now jtcps1_20200223.rbf. (please delete the old RBF file). We have tested it on three faulty systems with possitive results. I hope this works for everyone. Sorry for yesterday's problems.

Here it is. Download the files for MiST or MiSTer depending on your platform.

MiSTer

Install MRA and RBF files normally. Place MAME zipped files in the usual folder. Nothing special.

MiST

You need to use this tool to convert the MRA files into valid .rom files. Thanks a lot to Sebdel for developing it. Check the readme file.

MRA files

I have provided the MRA files for Final Fight, Ghouls 'n Ghosts and Willow. I already have the MRA files for all variants of these games included in MAME and I'll release them very soon. For variants not included in MAME, like this, you're welcome to contribute with an MRA file.

If you experience errors during the game boot up (such as RAM/ROM error) try using the corresponding *_notest.mra file. These errors are due to SDRAM differences. I'll work on them.

And...

This has been an awesome month. Seeing this come to live -even to a beta stage- has been quite intense. A lot of new users have joined Patreon making me feel very happy about how people perceive this work. I'd like to welcome all of you. I'd like also to thank former patrons who were pushing me even at times I was delivering minor games. All the experience developed last year has paid off this month.

Now I'll take a couple of days easy before going back to improve the quality of all the cores.

I am intrigued about Ghouls'n'Ghosts "Computer Aided Difficulty Adjustment" system, is that really true? Does it somehow adjust difficulty depending on player skill?

May i ask how do i enable demo/attract mode sound ? At the moment all my CPS1 games do not have demo/intro sound. Only after coin up and starting the game the music will play. I tried to enable in the dipswitch setting (if it's available) but none seem to be working.

Hi Ameen, I just replied to your message. I didn't realize you already new about the DIP switch settings. Try resetting the game as many won't read DIP changes until reset. Also, some games are rather quiet in demo mode and may stay most of the demo in silence. Try games that start soon with music, like SF2.

I think it is as developers bloated about it at the time but it would be nice if someone could dig up how difficulty evolves through the gameplay.
