Yesterday I talked with my parents and close relatives. They all left Mykolaiv together for a safer place. Since Mykolaiv is constantly under shelling and airstrikes. (They didn't want to leave for a long time, but when you hear automatic queues nearby - you stop doubting and being afraid to leave your home.)

They now live in a village in the Kyiv region. Everyone lost their jobs (because the factory where they worked stopped its capacity, because the export and import of raw materials and products stopped for logical reasons. And the owner of this factory is a Russian... well, that's understandable). They have planted a vegetable garden and are already preserving it for the winter (because they think that in winter there will be a complete shortage in the cities ... with the fact that the Russians are burning our wheat fields and taking away all the grain from the occupied territories).

They try to tell all this with a smile on their face. But when the topic of housing starts, the smile disappears. They do not know (and no one knows) whether a rocket will hit their house, whether it will be whole or trivial, whether other people will not occupy this territory and start living in their homes (as is the case in Donetsk). They are afraid not to lose their home, they are afraid that they are no longer young and they do not have the time and energy to earn money for a new home.

I don't remember if I told you or not, but I didn't spend the money you pay for the subscription and saved it to buy my own apartment with a separate room that will become a workshop for me where I can create and experiment in my work. Now I have another primary goal). Now I want to buy a house for my parents - like my mother once dreamed of. It will be a small private house with a small garden somewhere in a small town where it will be quiet and cozy. And they will definitely have a dog (they refused to have a pet because they were constantly working and could not give it as much warmth as it needs + they believe that the animal should also walk outside). And I will visit them and see the smiles on their faces.

Yes, my Aikido community too. They are out of harm’s way in Poland, but the men of age are now fighting. So horrifying. And I am glad your people are safe. 🙏🏻
