Lily waited for Drew to arrive back at his dorm. He had no idea she was still alive from his spell and she had a naughty list full of mischief to pull on him. Not only did he misuse the animation spell for his lustful desire but she was badly damaged due to his dad throwing her in the fireplace, claiming he had summoned an evil spirit into their house. Drew had used a little magic to restore her doll body to its original state, but it doesn’t take away the pain and humiliation she experienced.

Through his ignorance, Drew didn’t just use an animation spell. He brought Lily to life using a magical book of the Fae. While her form may be that of a doll, she was a living sentient being capable of rational thought. A being with feelings that were crushed as she was seemingly cast aside.

She had nowhere she could go. Being banished from the wizard academy, Drew was at a normal college. If anyone saw her alive they would freak out and most likely harm her. Not that she would be welcome in the magical world either, considering the spell used to bring her to life was outlawed. She sat at the edge of his desk, kicking her feet, pondering her next move when the lock on the door turned over.

“Just a little closer,” she thought as Drew stepped toward his desk. As he went to sit down, she stood up and faced him.

“Li…Lily?” Drew stammered. Before he could react, Lily zapped him with a shrinking spell that she had been practicing, while plotting her revenge. Drew landed on his desk, standing now only a foot tall slowly getting his bearings as Lily stepped toward him.

“Hi Drew, did you miss me?” Lily taunted wearing a devious grin. Her grin turned into a puzzled look as she observed Drew. While he wore a shocked expression, there was no fear in his eyes.

“Lily! Thank God!” Drew exclaimed as he pulled her into his embrace.

“Hey! What are you…” Lily was cut off as Drew locked lips with hers. Left overwhelmed and speechless, she began to blush as Drew passionately kissed her. Conflicted in her emotions she wanted to break away but couldn’t find the willpower to do so. This wasn’t the same dumb teenage boy that brought her to life for a fantasy. She was feeling something entirely different emanating from him. Being an empath, she felt relief, regret, pain, joy, and love all at once. It overwhelmed her and tears began to run down her face. When he finally broke the kiss they stared at each other for several seconds before Lily broke the silence.

“I guess I’ll take that as a yes,” she whispered as she embraced him, laying her head on his chest.

“Lily, are you crying?” Drew asked as he wiped a tear from her eye.

Wrapped up in the moment, Lily didn’t answer. When she shrank Drew, her intention up to that point was pure malice. She never knew his true feelings up until now. Everything she thought she knew about him was wrong. She expected him to be afraid or angry. She expected him to beg for mercy as she toyed with him. Instead his first action was to kiss her in such passion that nothing else seemed to matter to him. He truly loved her and she couldn’t stop sobbing.
