Kind of on topic, Gantz was the first manga I read that didnt have furigana (hiragana or katakana reading over the kanji). I can only read to about a 4th-5th grade level of kanji, but the manga had so many long periods of action, when I finally got to a kanji I couldnt read, I wasnt overwhelmed. 

Making me want to watch those movies again.
