As you may be aware, the Love Me Nice Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/224096455/love-me-nice-volume-1-pre-order) launched 6 days ago and is 95% funded -- wow! That's pretty cool, but I've spent the last few days thinking about what this means for the Patreon. If the campaign is *barely* funded, there's no reason to change the Patreon. The funds would just be enough to make the books *exist*, not to have extra to put towards the webcomic itself. But in the instance the campain is *overfunded*, well, I'm not sure what to do, and frankly I am open to suggestions. Do I make this a general Kickstarter for me as an artist as opposed to the comic itself? Do I end it? Do I put it on hold for a period of time based on how much I raise...? Maybe people still want to back for previews. I will also be having a private live stream channel soon, which only Patreon pledgers and Kickstarter backers can have access to. I'm not sure. But that's why I'm open to input.

For me personally, I don't mind continuing to contribute to Patreon even if the KS gets over funded because its a way for me to continue showing my support for an artist I really enjoy, even if its just a few dollars a month. In my mind, these are two different services: in one you generally want to get a product out of it, and in the other you want to show support for the artist and sometimes get some behind the scenes action. I also feel that keeping it open would be a good way for people who maybe couldn't afford or missed the KS to still get to see previews and enjoy streams.

Matt Bixler! Hello!

To be blunt about it, there isn't some maximum amount of money you're allowed to make at a time. I'll be contributing to the kickstarter because I want I copy of the book, and I'm contributing to the patreon because I want the comic to keep coming out online, and because I like seeing development stuff. If the kickstarter gets overfunded, I assume it's because lots of people want the book, and I'll assume the patreon will keep running because people want the comic to keep coming out online. They're separate things with separate goals and as long as both goals exist there's no reason to end either of them. If one performs above expectations then I can only assume the people involved will be happier to support the artist more then we'd expected. You own, your funding owns, and if you end up with extra resources at the end then the system works.
