Hi, your favorite neighborhood astrophysicist here. If we assume a block universe, depending on the speed, distance, and direction of the planet Aria is on and of Vortel, it might be impossible to talk to the people she knew on Vortel due to relativity. The universal feed might connect her to the far future of Vortel or might only be available to connect to the far past before the people she knew were born. For the block universe theory, you could imagine the universe as a stack of pictures, with each picture a snapshot of everything that happened in the universe at that time. The height (vertical dimensions) of the pictures is time, while the horizontal dimensions are space. Now imagine you can cut this stack of pictures, where the angle of this cut is the speed of Aria and the speed of Vortel. Depending on where Vortel falls on this line, the time in which Aria is currently at might be in the far future of Vortel, the far past, or relatively close to the present. All of this assumes they can't travel faster than light speed.
