Wolf

I finally smile when the massive spider stops moving. It only took about five hours straight of ramming it with five spaceships. Then the level-up notification appears after its death.

“That took too long,” Sapphire comments with a frown on her face. And I can’t help but agree with her.

That mini boss really was ridiculous.

“It’s dealt with now, so let’s just move on,” I tell her, and she nods her head as we move over to check out the mini boss chest. And the moment I touch it, revealing what’s inside, I let out a sigh of relief.

“Oh,” Sapphire mutters before excitement fills her gaze and she repeats, “Oh!”

Without hesitation, I yank off my gauntlet and ditch one of the other rings I had on me – one that gave a mere boost to physical strength – and put this one on in its place. Then I raise my hand up to let it bask in the light as Sapphire and I admire the beautiful ring.

The ring itself is the same blue shade as my blue moonlight, with a few bands of ice spiraling around it and a wolf’s head on the top of the ring. One that looks rather intimidating.

Honestly, if I didn’t already know that Fenrir can’t interfere with the dungeon either, I’d assume he was behind this.

But it’s just my luck, which has finally returned after who knows how long.

Without hesitation, I begin pulling on the sensation I feel from the ring. Then I get the instinctive feeling that the ring wants me to feed it ice element, so I do. And the ice element quickly begins to return to me as some sort of pure energy that I feel invigorating my entire body, making me grow stronger.

“Fuck, yeah!” I shout, raising my voice for something other than shouting in pain during a battle for the first time in who knows how long. Probably surprising the viewers too, but I don’t care.

I turn to look at Sapphire, making her roll her eyes before she says, “Yeah, I get it. You want to stay here for a while.”

Despite her words, she is still smiling. So I can tell she’s excited about this as well.

“As long as I can use the ring too,” Sapphire says, making me blink in surprise for a moment. “I’m not getting any of that energy you’re getting, so it isn’t making me stronger like it is you.”

Oh. Interesting.

“Alright, we can take turns,” I tell her with a nod.

Then I float upwards a bit and spread my arms out, taking in all of the ice element around us and devouring it all. But during the process of doing that, I realize a few limitations that the ring has.

For one, it can only devour so much at one time. So even with this massive amount of ice element, I can’t devour it all at once or anything. In fact, it takes a while to devour much of it. So we’ll probably be here for a while.

Another thing is that I apparently can’t devour the ice element I personally create. Which is understandable.

So I continue devouring the ice element, gradually raising my physical strength, even if it’s a rather slow process. But the very fact that I can increase my physical strength without having to level is a boon in and of itself. Because it brings me a lot closer to the spiders in strength, making it actually possible to deal with the other floors of this theme. A struggle I wasn’t looking forward to whatsoever at first.

Because I can’t deal with the elemental energy of other elements. So I really didn’t know what to do for the next floors.

Especially if one of them is a fire element focused floor. Just the thought of being stuck in a hot space while fighting the spiders who all have fire element is a nightmare.

Even if I’ve significantly decreased my weakness to fire-based attacks, I’m still weak to them. So it’ll be a pain to deal with if that comes around.

I continue absorbing and devouring all of the ice elemental energy I can grab before about two hours pass and I hand the ring to Sapphire, letting her absorb the ice element for two hours as I read up on the System Forums. And I quickly find it blowing up due to the item that I just got.

An item that something that has never been seen before.

Guess it really is unique.

A smile stretches across my face as I lie back, creating a seat out of ice to sit in as I wait for Sapphire to finish her turn.

The ice element remaining in the area along with what we already absorbed into our bodies before should last for about two or three days of constant absorption at this rate. So we can begin moving on to the next floor after that.

By then I would be surprised if we weren’t strong enough to take on the floor.

Once we reach the floor, before anything else, we should test our new strengths out. Because I still vividly remember my transition into becoming a lycanthrope in the first place.

And flopping around like a child is not my idea of a good time.

I purse my lips.

Then again, we’re in space. So could I really flop around here?

I stare up at the still-falling-apart planet of ice above me while slowly drifting in space on my chair.

Guess that’s a matter of perspective.

Anyways, I stretch for a bit before focusing my attention on reading all of the latest System Forums.

This is going to be a long and boring wait.
