Within the pass check station outside of the Dungeon

"A group has just left the dungeon," the receptionist announces with one finger touching the spot right behind her ear. "The next group may proceed in."

At that announcement, a group of six mercenaries gets up from their sitting positions several meters away from the station and begins to walk towards it. The group consists of five Humans and an Orc, being one of the few parties to mix the two races into a single group.

Roland - the party's leader, and a Human - nods his head at the receptionist standing at the station currently checking the pass of another group before walking by towards the dungeon after seeing her nod her head back at him. The man is wearing a simple robe and has a long staff in his hands, with a small yet very durable crystal at the end of the staff.

"It's about time," Elizabeth mutters, a frown on her face as she pulls out her bow, "that wait took a lot longer than I would have preferred..."

The party's healer - a woman named Sophia - adjusts her robe's sleeve whilst saying without much emotion on her face, "It was a lot shorter of a wait than before the Dungeon got these new instances."

Elizabeth just grumbles to herself at her Sophia's comment as the Orc within the party - a man named Faraek Caustic - hefts their two-handed battle-axe on their massive shoulder and says, "True that."

"We're entering the dungeon now, so keep the chatter to a minimum," Roland says with a frown before glancing at the two silent twins with a slight not of his head. The twins - a brother and sister pair - nod their heads back while drawing their swords and stepping forwards towards the door.

Of the members of the party, four of them are at the cusp of reaching Tier 2, whilst the twins are both just barely at Tier 2. They are the vanguards for the party, with the highest mixture of mobility and strength to take on the majority of the monsters whilst letting the least amount of them slip through to the others.

"Let's begin," Roland says, turning back to face the dungeon entrance before opening the doors and walking through.

On the fourth floor of the dungeon

'I really hate this thing,' Roland thinks as he slams his staff onto the void beowolf's back, causing a loud yelp to ring out from the monster before it stumbles slightly and swings its paw around towards him, knocking him on his back with a grunt. 'What the hell even is this element that it can negate magic attacks and not be identified by the dungeon researchers?'

As these thoughts continue to go through both his head, and the head of his healer party member, Elizabeth fires a third arrow into the void beowolf, drawing its attention towards her. She then swears as a build-up of black flames begins to grow within the monster's mouth directed straight at her.

Before the monster can expel the attack, however, a knife flies out straight towards the creature's head, causing the beowolf to move its head to the side to avoid it right as the breath attack leaves its mouth. The attack then flies right past all of the party members, devouring bits of the rocky ground in its way before eating up a large chunk of the lava around the platform of which the party is fighting on.

"Thanks!" Elizabeth calls out before nocking another arrow and letting it loose straight into the tired beowolf's open eye.

On the eighth floor of the dungeon

A click suddenly echoes in the eerie silence of the taiga as Sophia's foot proceeds to lower slightly on the pressure plate she had just stepped on.

"Shit," she swears whilst hurriedly trying to back up, only for a black and purple ball of dark energy to suddenly appear from a bush and shoot its way straight through her leg, creating a perfectly round hole in it going from one end to the other. "Damn it, that fucking hurts!!!!"

The healer loses her footing and falls on the ground as the sounds of wolves howling echoes in the otherwise silent taiga.

"Everyone, get ready to defend Sophia," Roland says as Sophia focuses on healing the major injury to her leg.

Before long, several strange-looking wolves appear, each with a spider-like limb sticking out of their backs.

"More of these things?" Elizabeth mutters whilst nocking an arrow to her bow. "What sort of mind does the Dungeon Core have to come up with such strange creatures?"

One of the twins - the sister of the brother-sister pair, named Anne - quickly raises her sword and blocks the claw-tipped spider limb of one of the scythian wolves before kicking out at the creature and calmly stating, "Now's not the time to contemplate."

Elizabeth once again mutters an apology as she lets loose an arrow into the eye of one of the monsters.

                                                                                         Fenrir

This is an interesting party of intruders. Not only have they been working pretty well together, but they have an Orc amongst a party of Humans.

That isn't a very common thing to see. Especially with the Humans working so well together with the Orc.

Even amongst those mixed parties between the two, there is almost always at least one person who discriminates against the other race.

But there isn't any of that in this party. Just fluid teamwork.

Although that Elizabeth girl seems to get lost in her thoughts as she speaks out loud from time to time.

And I don't necessarily appreciate her thoughts sometimes.

I watch the party as they continue fighting against the scythian wolves for a time before turning my attention towards Dawn - who is currently on the tenth floor playing with Fang again.

It's kind of adorable to see how attached she is to the furry little guy. Although it's also nice to have her favorite spot now on the tenth floor instead of the third, because the third floor was a little bit too close to the entrance for my comfort.

That aside, I turn my attention back to the area I dug out for the eleventh floor.

This will be my first time making a swamp, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Not to mention that I have some interest in the reptiles I was given knowledge of alongside the swamp environment itself.

The idea of wolves with scales is an interesting one, after all. Not to mention the void effects that could be added to them.
