I knew from the moment I begin the line-art of this illustration of drawing Jennifer Lawrence as a near obese whale of fat that I had to do some justice for the mess that Dark Phoenix was. I give you the Mystique 1990s X-Men Classic Outfit! I don't know how in 20 years of X-men films that they never went there with this costume or even a modern version.

I shouldn't complain since Fox never hired anyone creative or confident enough to bring some weird and nostalgic influence into the costume department. Can you imagine how epic it would have been to see Lawrence wearing this, even at her current weight?!

My idea here is that the production for Dark Phoenix went so over budget was due to the massive practical effects department having to cater to Jennifer's weight gain regiment. Each calorie costing 1000's of dollars and the loss of any calories from unnecessary exercise or movement pushing the shooting date back even further. Basically turning the set into a Hollywood Feeding Studio.
