March animation poll (Patreon)

Hi everyone! It's time for this month's animation poll where we have 5 ideas to vote on, all submitted by patrons. As this Patreon grows and more ideas are submitted, I am tweaking how the polls work to ensure the winner is chosen as fairly and clearly as possible.

TL;DR: The voting portion of the monthly polls will now be split into two polls lasting 3 days each. Whether there is a second poll depends on how many ideas are submitted and how the first round of voting goes.

In my opinion, having a poll with a ton of ideas all with a few votes each isn't very useful to determine a winner. I want there to be a clear winner and I'd like to be as transparent about the process as possible.

For those who may not know, here is a quick rundown of how the monthly polls currently work: On the first of every month, I post an animation survey for all-access and VIP patrons. The survey is open for one week and these patrons can submit an animation idea to me either as a comment on the post or via private message to me on Patreon. After one week, I post a poll with all of the submissions to all patrons so that everyone can vote on what they'd like to see next. This poll was open for one week as well, and this is what is changing starting this month.

The main thing changing for now is that the poll vote will only be open for 3 days instead of 7. This is because if the results of the first poll do not give a clear winner, we have another 3 days to conduct a more specific poll. It also makes sure this vote doesn't drag on for weeks.

Here is the new process that I will try out for the monthly animation votes:

1. On the first of every month, I post an animation survey for all-access and VIP patrons to submit their idea. This part is not changing, and will still last 7 days.

2. After one week, I post the first animation poll. This poll will include ALL submitted ideas, and you can vote for as many ideas as you like. This poll will last for 3 days.

3. After 3 days, I will make a decision on whether a second poll is needed or not. If there is a clear winner in the first poll, I see no reason to further spam you guys with Patreon emails and will announce the winner as a comment on the poll post. If there is no clear winner, I will create a second poll with fewer options. The animation ideas that move forward will be chosen by me based on 3 factors: how many votes they got in the first poll, the tier of the patron who submitted the idea (this is where the VIP perk of higher priority on submitted ideas comes into play), and how I feel about the idea. This second poll will last another 3 days, and you can only vote for one idea.
