The Gloaming Toll: homebrew tabletop (Patreon)
Content
I'm currently running a D&D game for some friends and it's my first experience in homebrewing a story for 5th edition! I've previously put together a sci-fi game, but took the writing and planning a lot more carefully this time around.
A new game also, of course, means an opportunity for new artwork!
Pictured above are 2 key NPCs of the story: Duke Osred, a widely-respected but secretive caretaker of the Hartsvale region and his granddaughter, Irenne. Their family sigil is the namesake of their land-- the golden hart (an old word for a fully mature red deer stag).
The game's set in D&D's official realm of Faerûn but I've adapted a remote region for my players to explore. If you're a D&D enthusiast, Hartsvale can be found in the very north-east corner of the Sword Coast.
Above I've also included a picture of Hohenzollern Castle in southern Germany, the chief inspiration for the Duke's castle and just about as storybook as a burg can get.
I'm making a VAST amount of use of the resources on https://2minutetabletop.com/, I can't sing their praises enough. The game maps of Hartwick castle were made with the asset/item kits available on that website. It saved me so much time!
