This corroded silvered dagger bears the shrunken head of a halfling on its hilt. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon that changes to a +2 bonus against any creature with the ability to cast spells.

While wielding this dagger, you can use your reaction to cast counterspell (DC 13). Once this ability has been used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn.

Priscilla Vengerthorn was wise to take caution when she discovered that her daughter was being manipulated by a coven of hags. As a Lord of the Seventh City, she knew that such a grave situation had to be resolved delicately. Luckily, her power and influence allowed her access to the best tool for the job. She procured the services of Thaddius, the gifted halfling assassin trained in the killing of mages and spell casters. Thaddius was successful in tracking the coven to its lair, but there his luck failed him. Having slain Thaddius, the coven, knowing they were being hunted, decided to flee the continent. They took his dagger, planning to twist and reforge it in their own image. The head of Thaddius was kept as a prize — flayed, shrunken, and embedded into the hilt of his cherished weapon. The hags then re-tempered the blade using the vile magic of their own blood to create an entirely new trophy of foul invention.
