Most of you don't know this, but before I started doing 3D artwork, I worked as a manager in retail. It wasn't like I chose it as my calling or anything, but 20 years ago I'd flunked out of college and needed a job. And, before I knew it, that became my career. I was pretty decent at it, but I never really enjoyed it. So, when my little side hobby looked like it could become my main source of income, I wasn't against the idea.

Now, I told you all that so I could tell you the main reason I started rendering full-time: About two and a half years ago on her 65th birthday, my mother was taken by ambulance to the hospital because she couldn't breathe. The ultimate cause of that, we soon figured out, was cancer (cervical, stage 4, for anyone curious.) I was going to need a flexible work schedule to take care of her, so the ability to make money from home became essential.

So, that's what happened: I started making renders from home full-time, and for the last two years I helped my mom fight her cancer.

But it looks like that fights coming to an end, and not in a good way.

Barring a massive recovery, it doesn't look like my mom has many days left. Helping her through this is taking more of my time than before, so posts may get kind of spotty. The weekly updates, this months bed match and animated clip should all be done on time, but updates on other stories may not happen for a couple if weeks. The Knockout November posts will continue for this month, because they're somewhat easier to do than a multiple panel comic page.

I'll post an update when there's any new information, and thank you all for your continued support.
