Dev Diary #32 - 0.2.9 Progress Report (Patreon)

Good evening everyone,

Boy does time fly. Feels like yesterday that I finished 0.2.8. I've been preoccupied with a lot of things outside of SL (looking/visiting different apartments, drama, car, taxes, etc.) that I feel extremely busy and tired throughout the day. That being said, I don't feel like I'm too far behind in my target of having 3 scenes for the month (yet). I hope to stay on course for this coming update. Thank you all for your understanding, and I apologize if you felt that the previous update was too short.

0.2.9 Progress Report

The goal for 0.2.9 will be to complete 3 Celestia scenes. I understand that a lot of people might not like her because she's really "trolly" but I feel like we've been getting a lot of "serious" scenes lately, and it would be fun to mix things up a bit. After her short arc is complete, we'll be jumping into more "weeby" stuff such as magic, goddess, vallas, and more lore. In other words, we'll be doing a lot more serious stuff soon enough.

I think I'm about 60-70% complete with this current scene. The most important factor is that I have an idea of what I want to do going forward. I want to try and experiment with more intricate quest ideas instead of going from point A to point B. Though, please bear with me. I feel like I'm spending more and more time trying to make scenes/characters look good. And as I mentioned before, Celestia might not be the most popular character but I expect her "short arc" to be done likely by the end of 0.2.9 (assuming everything goes as planned). 

I hate to sound like a broken record but I have been extremely busy lately. I don't expect to be un-busy until I finally find an apartment that I can afford and that isn't in a bad part of town. With inflation and prices rising, I feel like it's becoming a struggle to live with my current income. Finding lunch outside of cooking feels so expensive now, easily $12 per meal. I've thought about trying to find a second job outside of Patreon, but I know it would take a huge toll on the development of SL. And as I've said many times before, I really do want to do this for a living. I have a ton of fun working on the game and want to do it for the rest of my life.

Anyway, here's hoping that I can finish 3 quality scenes for 0.2.9. Thank you all for your continued support. I hope things get better in the future, not just for me but for everyone across the world as well.
