For all those who couldn't attend, here's the video of last week's AMA with Matt O'Dowd and Space Time writer Graeme Gossel. It was a fun discussion that covered, the big bang, the holographic universe, the dark forest and black holes. Enjoy and we hope to see you at the next AMA at the end of the month!

Matt and Graeme should share out the hair more evenly.

A little extra color for Matt on Snow Crash.. The book Snow Crash was very influential in the early days of the virtual reality industry (research, head mounted display (HMD) companies, virtual world software, etc.). I started my career in the early 1990’s as an electro-optical research engineer building retinal scanning display technology for virtual reality applications at the University of Washington. I subsequently designed HMDs at the first manufacturer of consumer HMDs in the mid-90s. A LOT of people I worked with at that time read Snow Crash, referenced it, and thought about it. At UW, I was essentially handed a copy when I started and told, “you should read this.” Fast forward to this decade and Neal Stephenson became the Chief Futurist at Magic Leap, an AR company (which also licensed the patents our team created at UW in the 90s and 00s). So, yeah, that book was sort of the Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy for the virtual reality space and is in the DNA of the industry in many ways.
