The fullback is a relic of smash mouth, stomp ur opponent into the ground style of football. Old school. With the rules of the game changing to encourage passing and a faster flowing offense, a different style of run game is used today. When u need 1 yd for a first down or touchdown, a big RB may be used. With more emphasis on passing, roster spots being valuable and the stigma of RBs being dumped when they hit 30 years old, a full time fullback is not really needed

The Bucs under Dungy and Gruden was one of my favorite teams. They had all my fave players from Florida universities on their roster. It was like watching all the best college players from my state playing in the NFL and wrecking house!

Haha exactly Dave. After 3 quarters of getting ran over by Alstott, eventually you can't take it anymore, you start to step out of his way and just wrap your arms around him. But He'll just run straight through arm tackles.
