I wonder what the stats are... How often does actually owning a gun to defend yourself get you or a family member killed in what would otherwise have been just a misunderstanding or maybe worst case a loss of property. Anyways -> The right to own a gun should come with a requirement to train on how to use it and how to act in certain situations. Rights need to come with responsibilities as well. I remember reading about a man coming out of his house and killing a young woman who just turned into the wrong driveway.

Don't understand the point of coming out of the house with a gun in the first place. They announced themselves several times; weren't trying to break into the house and were walking away when he decided to make that dumb ass decision that cost him his life.
