2024-02-18 02:26:57 Looks like they had a self destruct bomb implanted in people who knew about his powers. I wonder if it went off because he had opened the first gate or if it was because the scientist had left the facility. I'm going to guess they have been trying to kill him since he might one day just get pissed at humanity and say "Die" but since even intending to kill him will make his power kill you, they were just keeping him happy in that bunker until the teacher broke him out. It's understandable I guess, given enough time something might make him angry enough to do it. Someone murdering a loved one or something might cause him to wish for it, even if momentarily in a fit of rage, but given his powers everyone would immediately die.
