so this was quite interesting. Ending this arc with a twist of Annette knowing from minute one she was bad and having the message be our lil girl is also insane but views Thea as her mom kinda is a weird but fitting end. Sweet on one hand but shows the same Higurashi energy as her mom...Either way, the biggest takeaway is probably Thea needs to be a lil harsher and Monika needs to be a lil nicer but either way fantastic arc

So for a scale of 1 to 10 Monika was 11 on how right she was about Matilda. But I wonder now when she knows that the team already have a ruthless member. If she is going to soften up a bit? Also talking about Matilda her deception skill are so great that it almost was impossible even for the viewer to tell if she is buffing or are honest. But yeah I agree definitely some Higurashi energy here, like I have not seen this type of behavior in a show since Higurashi Sotsu. And Annette seems to have gotten bits of that as show here. As letting someone die of starvation trapped in a complete dark environment. Is one of the cruel ways to kill someone, especially as she give her 1% of surviving. Just so that they still could have the hope of getting saved as they starve to death. Then just how she mocks Matilda for failing for her own trap, when she died shows even more how ruthless she can be. So all in all this show now after this arc have become one of my favorite shows this season. With the likes of Zom100 and Regin of Spellblades

I literally can't tell if she had a bit of a split personality going on or if she was really just that evil. most will say evil but I think it was written so strongly you can kinda argue both. like when talking with people about her mission she talked about Annette like she was a monster to be used, but when with her daughter it felt like she actually wanted to care. wild story
