season 3 has been announced so that's pretty rad. excited to watch it here when it does drop. I do think Takemichi should get someone like Draken on his side about timetravel though

I do think next season will be at least 24 episodes considering how long the arc is but I wouldn't know where it would want end especially because the anime likes to bleed into the next arc.

I do think Takemichi will get slightly better and bearable next arc but I do agree that there are other characters that you wish get more focus on.
