WELL THAT HAPPENED...Also my bad 1 episode left as twitter for this confirms the final episode is next week. I think the recap episode messed with the ep count as that's why it was 13 before. better not see any BS in the comments like last week about how the mom was faking it and we can't trust her

This episode was so heartbreaking as well. And yeah I got really angry at those who did leave those conspiracy theories about the mom in your comment section last week. But I didn’t reply to them, as I didn’t want to create drama in your comments

I really hope so, as personally I have ever since episode 7. Have had suspicions of that we did misjudge the mother. Based on how Kazuki did act in that episode compared to his normal self. Like if even a perfect parent figure like him, could end up in such a emotional place. What would it mean for someone else like just Miri’s mother

she was a bad mother but she did care the issue was she was in an abusive relationship she thought was fine and didnt open her eyes until she was fired.

Well yeah but so was Kazuki in episode 7 you could also say. As he did go to a casino and got drunk, then ended up in the street beaten down. Now what that is the difference is that Kazuki had a much better partner, who could take care of Miri in the meanwhile. But sadly the mother didn’t have that luxury, as she had to do everything herself, without a support network. So what I’m getting at is that she did try to do the best she could without a proper support network

I think it was valid to be suspicious of the mom. It was awfully convenient that she reappeared just when they needed Miri out of the picture. And she WAS a terrible mother, all we ever saw was her saying really terrible things, but I think that is intentional. It certainly has more effect if you already think you know how things are only for them to be turned upside down. I both underestimated the mother (although I just thought she was a bad mother, not that there was necessarily a conspiracy) and overestimated Kyu. His "I underestimated how much she meant to you." Like dude, you have known Kazuki and Rei for YEARS and how much they changed in just ONE. But he also clearly expected Rei's dad to be more reasonable. Our master informant misinterpreted three people at once, causing a huge mess... and well, the death of Miri's mother, although Rei will probably spend his life blaming himself for it. That was honestly the reason why I thought returning Miri to her was a terrible idea. Kyu spent four months just watching them investigate Rei and clearly see how attached he is to his newfound family, and REALLY believed the organization would be satisfied with just sending Miri away? Clearly Miri would have been safer with two hitmen protecting her rather than someone who just can't aaaand... well seems like I was right. It sure would have complicated things even more but I did hope the mother would survive. But damn, this is probably the darkest episode yet.
