By the end of Death Note, Light Yagami’s short-lived regime with his New World saw a decreased crime rate of 70%, and all wars had ceased to exist. Had he been successful with his plan, society would also be taught to act purely on altruism and kindness. Ideally, this would eventually create a utopia. The age old question remains, does the end justify the means? This week I tackle that very question.
