can't remember the last time a demon lord story didn't just cut away from a side character's fight and let them have the whole episode to themselves. not what I walked in wanting but left 100% satisfied

You didn't seem to notice but at the end there, the way Machina was saved was the EXACT same way Veltol saved/met Machina the first time they met when she was being dropped into a volcano.

Yes I was about to say the same. He saved her the same way as the first time they met. At the very begining of the Anime. I love such poetic things.

Honestly this fight was really good. Really digging the choreography. And the hero's attitude was perfect, he was constantly paying attention and always ready for more. And that anime with the adventurer who got kicked out of the party and teams up with the blue-haired girl has some pretty decent fights as well. I feel like this season's giving some really nice fights across different anime with plenty of shots and movement that aren't just copy-pasta from other anime with a different coat of paint. Very reactive fights too, not just throwing out moves but also reading them and responding properly using the tools/skills they have.
