i do agree with the general complaints on Llyod's design being too focused on the leg area...with that said the fact his character is completely innocent and only fascinated by magic ontop of one of the best explored magic system in recent memory makes this great imo

It's the Nier/2B effect, they design a character a certain way to attract a certain demographic. That demographic stays once they realize: "damn this is actually really good"

Aesthetics aside, I found myself laughing out loud which doesn't often happen. It's something about how the animation portrays the humor elements..... It may be unusual nowadays, but as an older person, I remember how strange it seemed when shorts became long on children, adults, etc. Except Bermuda shorts. Men's bathing suits showed 3/4 of the thigh. The art reminds me vaguely of cherubs..... It's funny you mention both Slime and how the main character here has no perverted reaction to all the provocation he receives. It's like the inverse of Rimuru whose mind has some perverted reactions, but cannot act out because of his body. And I don't get the sense that it bothers him all that much either. It's one of the reasons I like Slime.
