NEW FEAT: Impromptu Improvisation

You have an uncanny knack for wriggling your way out of sticky situations.

You have confidence. Whenever you fail a skill check, you may expend confidence to roll an additional d20. You must use a different skill than the original check, and it must be a suitable skill for the situation. For example, you might try Bluff after your Disguise has failed while sneaking past a guard, but you could not use Handle Animal.

You can use this ability after the original roll, but before the outcome is revealed. The second attempt stands, and is always made against the same DC as the original check.

If the second check succeeds, you regain confidence. If it fails, you lose confidence until you either finish a long rest or complete a successful heist, caper, or con job.
