After her bad experience playing a Bard in 3.x (partially due to the system, partially due to the DM), I've been fighting a long war to convince my musically-focused spouse to try them in 5e. At last, they can actually pull more of their own weight (and be super amazing, even just out of the PHB). Still no luck yet, though. >.
