Session 99:
Dear Diary,
It finally happened. I proposed! Kind of.
So no shit there we were, brainstorming our usual Friday night ERP. Fighter was tits-deep in the costume trunk, but nothing was hitting right. No matter what pairing we pulled out it all seemed stale. We’ve done the classics. We’ve gotten creative. In no particular order, the two of us have explored:
Healer and Patient
Nightwatch and Rogue
Headmistress and Student
Pizza Delivery Goblin and Penniless Customer
Sexy Maids
Vampire and Hunter
Cowboy and Saloon Girl
Gamer and NPC
Conjurerer and Succubus
Artist and Muse
Druid and Garden Gnome
Santa and Elf
Gladiator and Empress
Barista and Picky Customer
Fisherman and Mermaid
Sculptor and Model
Cosplayer and Judge
Diva Plavalaguna and Ruby Rhod
So don’t think for a second, Diary, that we’ve lost our edge as RPers. It’s just that the roles I really wanted to try out weren’t in the costume box. I’ve kept them at the bottom of my handy haversack for ages, but never had the nerve to bring them to the bedroom.
Back when I bought the tux and gown, I told myself that it was just another costume. We both know that’s a lie though, Diary. Your eyes don’t well up when you’re buying a costume. But there I was, taking the veil and the little bowtie out of the haversack; presenting them like I was offering up my heart. For a moment I was sure that Fighter would reject the idea. She would fail to recognize that the costumes were more than costumes, dismiss them as “basic” or “vanilla,” and then suggest that we try Superhero and Sidekick or something. But then she said the words I’ll never forget. Fighter said her tux “just felt right,” and all my fears melted away. The sex has always been great, but I think it was the first time we’ve really made love.
Since Fighter and I have been together, I’ve learned more about the creative process than I’d ever thought possible. But sometimes it’s nice to put the roles aside. Sometimes it’s nice to just be yourself for once.
Wish us well, Diary! We haven’t picked a date yet, but we’re going to be performing the ceremony spell soon!
Yours for the first time,
Mrs. Fighter
