Hi Guys, here are the new parts I am releasing this month. These are several alternate trays for SR6, as well as a new lid that has a mounting window for what I am going to call "shields".

There are already a number of different trays for SR6, and indeed the current standard one came in as a replacement for the original, which was designed to hold the Romeo BLE mini instead of the ESP32. In this release I have revised the standard tray to cover up the power bus switch hole, which has been moved to the upper corner of the lid.

I have also added a couple of alternatives to the cable tie jack plug, which I think like the Romeo was better suited to OSR2 than SR6. I have included a hole-mounted jack plug variant, and a variant that has a hole for an XT60 connector (XT60E1-M). The XT60 connector is used extensively on applications like LiPo batteries for drones and it creates a solid connection well suited to carrying large currents. It is therefore ideal for your SR6, as long as you have the confidence to modify your power supply cable that is.

The other addition I am making is an alternative lid for the SR6 Beta enclosure that is aimed at anybody who wants to customise their machine beyond what they can do with the tray. This new lid has a window in it onto which a customised panel called a shield can be mounted.

The most obvious application for this is to mount a cooling fan, and I have sized the shield to be able to hold a cooling fan up to 60mm in size. I have included a tray designed to hold a 40mm fan, in a similar setup to in the OSR2 fan lid. I have also added a variation with mounting for a 0.96" OLED display. This is not yet supported by the official firmware but it was popular with the SR6 Alpha modders.

I would like to encourage members of the community to have a go at creating their own shields and share their designs on Discord. I am sure that there are a lot of cool artistic possibilities for fan grills for example. I have included a STEP file of a blank shield in this release, which you can cut to whatever height you might need.

Thanks again guys.

Great to see you officially using the XT60 connector. I have been using it on my own custom tray for a few months now - it was a pain to build a custom power cable, but the XT60 plug/socket connection is magnitudes better than the cheap rubbish plug power connectors. For anyone wondering it sort of connects and disconnects with the solid feel of connecting two Lego bricks together, and holds much more solidly. Also has solid heavy metal terminals with no internal tiny wiring like cheap plugs do so can carry a lot more current without melting. Enables use of good thick 14 gauge cable to the power bus internally too.

Is there an stl for the new lid, with the cut out for the fan and the bolt holes to match the shield?

Awesome, thank you. GREAT WORK!!
