Hi Guys it’s time for a monthly update. This month we have the SR6 Beta Build plans (finally!), a power bus build livestream video, and more on what to expect from the Benefactor ($16) tier.

This month is definitely the month when I’m going to upload the SR6 Beta pack, which will include all the relevant part STLs, parts list, and detailed step-by-step build instructions. I have already slipped the release on this twice, so this time I am going to make a concerted effort to get it finished. All of the SR6 beta parts are currently released, but this release will tie it all together and make the build process a lot more accessible.

Also this month, to go with the SR6 release I will be creating a video tutorial on how to make an external power bus, which is an absolute must for an SR6 build. This involves a few more skills than simple assembly, including some dreaded soldering, but don’t worry because I intend to go through it step-by-step using my new desk camera setup.

I will be going live on Discord on Wednesday 19th January at 11pm GMT (6pm EST) to record this video. If you’re a patron do sign up to the discord server if you’d like to watch and join the conversation. For those of you who can’t make it will I also make a recording of the livestream and release the video as this month’s $2 tier release.

I will also go live tomorrow (Wednesday 12th January) at the same time as a trial run and to take some more pictures for the SR6 build process. Tune in if you’re around and keep me company.

Finally, there’s the Benefactor ($16) tier. I’ve had a few bugs with getting this set up over the last few weeks but I think I’ve worked most of them out now. This highest tier isn’t for my main hardware releases, which will remain on the Maker ($8) tier. This tier is for those of you who just want to go that little bit further into supporting my ongoing work. The main reward will be regular insights into what I’m working on, and I might even share some prototype STLs if there’s interest.

I’ve had some ideas recently playing with 3D models imported from Virt-a-Mate. I’ve been posting some screenshots in the Benefactor area on discord, and I’ll be publishing a digest here on Patreon at the end of the month. The rest of you will of course get to see the results if/when I release them.

The last couple of months have been record breaking in terms of growth of this little community of ours, so hopefully I’m doing a good job. As always, a big thankyou to everyone who is supporting my work, and here’s to some exciting innovation in 2022!

Tempest.
