The State of AT&F 2023 (Patreon)

At the end of the year we always dive deep into analytics and data to see how well AT&F as a whole is doing!  So I figured this year I would give you a quick overview!  The State of AT&F, our community, is as follows...

PATREON

I will start with Patreon.  We have shown no actual growth in actual paying subscribers.  When one leaves, thankfully someone else jumps in.  But we've not seen a numerical increase in paying members.  We've seen a gain in people who follow (but not all pay).  We've seen our money amount remain the same (thank you).  It would be nice to see this growth, but as of now, it is stable!  No growth, no decline.

TUMBLR

Here is where we are seeing our most negative news.  Declines across the board, despite gaining new members.  This is partly due to Tumblr's irrelevance continuing to grow and the MLP fandom declining with age there.  We aren't growing on Tumblr and our daily engagement has dropped from over 120 engagements a day to now on average under 100.  Declines will continue we expect, but a lot of our paying supporters come from Tumblr.  We will discuss with the community if we should remain there or end in 2024 at Tumblr.

DERPIBOORU

Derpibooru had been declining the past few years due to it's popularity decreasing, but this year we saw a pleasant surprise with our AT&F hits and community! It grew slightly and became slightly more stable!  So in a positive turn, Derpibooru was stable, no decline, and even a little bit of growth! 

TWITTER / X 

This is where our focus is now.  X as a platform is our growth source, but due to outside conditions, we are worried about it's longterm stability and fanbase.  Nonetheless though, 2023 was our first full year on the platform releasing episodes on a normal Tues and Thurs schedule.  That said, it did better than when we were releasing content daily in 2022!! So we are very happy with the growth at Twitter and really hope to have sustainable growth into 2024.

CONCLUSION

In total, our community and fandom is growing!  Growing for the most part, stable in others.  Tumblr is a lost cause and it is likely most of those fans have moved to Twitter, though there is still some loss there.  We look at 2024 with cautious optimism but are pretty excited with a good year as we move forward!  We are always looking towards new platforms to grow our community and fanbase!  Thank you everyone!
