Another rather simple episode, but it pairs Starlight and Spike back together to hang out.  We also see Spike balancing on his tail, something we haven't drawn since 2015, maybe 2016?  lol! The fun bit in this is hearing Moondancer make her quips from off-screen.

Panel one has a creepy vacuum.  It is branded as Dalles, based off a city in Oregon called The Dalles.  We are people of culture, and we reference the hit online cartoon from the 2000s, Homestar Runner, in panel two.  Three characters can be seen as plushes sitting below the mirror; Strong Sad, Strong Bad, and The Cheat.  This is the first DIRECT character reference/appearance we have ever done.  We have shown a pink starfish and a yellow sponge on a beach before, but they didn't look directly like the famous characters.  If you haven't watched Homestar Runner content before, they still have a fun website and silly dates toons.  They still make content and it's refreshingly 2000s.

It's kind of nice to see these two hanging out.

I think spike has been hanging out with Fluttershy! Can’t skip tail day. Also every time you guys draw spike do you start by drawing the letter ‘S’ :)

Dude, I grew up with Homestar Runner. It as pretty much my biggest gateway onto the internet.

Truthfully, I always start a Spike drawing by doing those little scale things on his cheeks. Those 3 little things that stick out. From there I usually draw an eye, than the loop around his eye to the center and do the scales on the back of his head. The continue with a snout, the other eye, and connecting the head.

Shame that Ruffle still isn't a fully functional replacement for Flash. Even now, some things don't work correctly.

Well... I have a dirty secret. I never removed my Flash. I keep getting warnings from Adobe, but heck with them. I use Flash for stuff. Never tried Ruffle before.

Tradley

Wait, how? I thought Flash doesn't work at all anymore, full stop.

I hope I can reinstall it or something. If my memory is correct, I uninstalled Flash because, after December 2020, nothing worked anymore, and I was just told it's "not supported anymore".

Yes, Adobe and media outlets all said it wouldn't work and be vulnerable to attacks. Adobe 'forced' people to uninstall by having emails and messages go out on everyone's computers. But all one had to do was simply ignore or deny them. No one was ever actually forced to delete them. They just willfully followed what was told for them to do, even if they didn't have to do it.
