Figured I would so something different to engage with everyone in something light and fun.  Pixar:  We've all either grown up with them or know about them.  Over the course of almost 30 years, we've seen every kind of film from them imaginable.  So the question is;

What are your top 5 favourite Pixar films?

I thought long and hard about what mine are.  Please note, I haven't seen any film after Toy Story 4... YET.  I found it very hard to narrow it down to five. But here are my top five Pixar films.

5. Toy Story - When this first came out, no one could believe how computers could create something this different.  We'd all grown up with hand drawn animation (which I love) but this was so different.  The way it set up the characters and told the story was very enjoyable to me and still makes me think of good memories from this time period.  At the time, my favourite characters for some reason were the green army soldiers.

4. The Incredibles - Loved it!  Maybe a few years ago, this film would have been ranked higher, but it's still nearly perfect.  All these in the top five are.  The characters, the story, the action.  I wished for a long time that they would have made a action-adventure series like this, or a James Bond-esque film.... I guess we got that disaster but in the form of Mater.  Another thing that made me love this film was the music.  Oh the music!  Exceptional.

3. Monsters Inc - I liked the characters and the stories, despite never liking monsters.  I remember how ground breaking it was seeing the fur on Sully as well.  It's weird, at the time, this may not have been one of my favourite films, but looking back on it and seeing it recently, it has grown to a level of appreciation that beats out some others.  I'm green with it.

2. Wall-e - This might shock some, but this film is awesome to me.  I liked it then, I love it now.  I would almost say I wish they didn't have the weird obese humans in it, but now I appreciate it all.  I love the visuals and the lack of voice from the main characters.  The emotions expressed through these robotic beings is pretty incredible.  It shows how incredible the writers can express feelings without saying anything.  I don't know how long the film went without talking, but it was a long time.  I can't believe they kept the attention of viewers for so long.  I mean, we just watched a little robot pick up trash in an exceptionally detailed world.

1. Ratatouille  - To me this is as close to a perfect movie as I've ever seen.  It is incredible from beginning to end.  The visuals, the beautiful music, the animation.  I love the characters and even the "villain" at the end who turned out to be an unexpected emotional reckoning.  A part of me wishes we could see more with these characters, but the smarter half of me knows I wouldn't want them to try and carry this near perfect film any further.  Don't want to risk ruin a great thing.

A few more films were very close to my top five, such as Coco, Toy Story 3, and yes, Cars. Maybe next time we will have another set of movies to go over... Disney animated films from the renaissance era?

Same here for having not caught up after Toy Story 4 (though I did see Luca on a Discord watch party). But, yeah, it's really hard to choose favorites. Pixar pretty much had a smashing streak from Toy Story to Toy Story 3. Btw, I see that Cars 2 isn't even on the list. XD

Edited my comment because I hit Enter too early. ^^;

That was deliberate. Cars 2 does not exist. ;-) They had a pretty great record indeed. Even their weaker films, you can say have superior quality animation.

I guess my top 5 is pretty close to yours, really. •The first three Toy Story films will forever be an icon in my heart. •The Incredibles is amazing. The action is great, and the writing is so funny. •Really, I love the world and aesthetic that Monsters, Inc. provided. It's very creative. :) •Wall-E, like you said, is really neat with its minimal dialogue. I also just adore the technical aspect of it. Still holds up even 13+ years later. •Ratatouille, similar to Incredibles, just has great writing and comedy. If I really had to pick top 5 (they're almost interchangeable), I'd go with... 5. Up 4. Finding Nemo 3. Wall-E 2. The Incredibles 1. Toy Story 1, 2, and 3 (if you had to force me to choose one of them, I'd probably say 2). Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, and Inside Out would be very close runner-ups.

Up; Ratatouiller; The Incredibles; Toy Story and... And this is where this list stops, because I can't pick just five... There are many others I like...

Simple. Ratatouille, Incredibles, Coco, Soul, and Finding Nemo, because I've only watched these 5 in full length... Finding Nemo comes last, because I watched it on a train's entertainment system with very low resolution to my myopic eyes.
