So one thing we try to avoid in the series is DATING it.  So whenever you see technology we try to make it fairly generic.  I think there are two tech brands we show the most in the series, one is obviously the Banana brand products and the Columbia Brand who makes smart devices like Alli (whom Twilight dislikes!).  As a random tidbit, a few ponies can be seen with computers that have a "door" logo on them.  We have a fleshed out world, but its just side details for people to see.  But again, besides being just generic phones and computers, we aren't trying to date ourselves because there is a lot of old stuff shown too.  I mean have you seen how old some of the vehicles are we show in this series? ;-)
