We are caught up on episodes! And boy do we get a lot going on in the background here too. I hope everyone is having a great week and that a book of their's wasn't ruined in movie form.

And just for some side info, Marie (red) and Serena (pink) make an appear in panel two. They were summer class student's in Twilight's history class when she taught at Mare County Community College for a short time. Believe it or not, Marie is one of the older background characters too! See her appearances here. She work's at Hay Burger and is friend's with Serena. She is the newest of the background character's in this episode, but has the most appearances. Check them out here.

In panel four we see Berry Punch... it's been over a year since we've seen her and her struggles of getting a date. She is seen with a brown hat wearing pony who is named Barry. Barry is actually one of the oldest returning characters in the series, though you may not know him. You can see his appearances here. His character has changed a lot since he first appeared... but not visually so much. When he first appeared he stated he was a dock worker in Baltimare. When seen again he is in the background walking around Ponyville. His third appearance he seemed to work/run the Mare County Scrap Yard where Spike got a new engine for Starlight's Volvere. This is only his fourth appearance, but still he originally appeared in the series inception!

Any books you feel were well adapted to a movie/tv series? How about poorly adapted ones? And if you like more detailed episode discussions like this, let us know below. :)

Good Omens was the book that immediately came to mind. It's no minor book to live up to, but they lived up to it anyway. Literally the only thing I can think of to complain about was that they skimped out on the visuals on Death's wings, and we only saw those for a matter of seconds. Also, I prefer the movie of Scott Pilgrim to the graphic novels, although I suspect I'd feel the other way if I had read the graphic novels before seeing the movie. They're very different. The Expanse also hopefully qualifies, but I can't actually say since I've never read the books. I just know that the series is good. On the bad adaptations side . . . I'm still irritated that I went to see The Golden Compass fully expecting it to be a poor adaptation just because I wanted to see the final scene of the book and then they ended the movie early. That was a low trick.

What kind of weirdo brings a book to the movies? Twilight.

It's nice when adaptions are actually well done. I understand studio's have to change things here and there and make changes to the source material often, but as long as it doesn't ruin, detract, etc, that's fine. Not all changes are bad! Thanks for sharing your top picks, Borg Lord. I haven't seen any of them except for five minutes of the Golden Compass.
